    Um...the Constitution gives the president the right to issue executive orders. That's what he's talking about. He also has the ability to propose laws, and influence and shape policy, as well as create policy in the executive branch. And actually, if you look at the greater context of what Lincoln was saying, the strong executive comes into play, given that he laid out what would become his fundamental claim for the future Emancipation Proclamation, a presidential proclamation.

    I think you'd be quite surprised how supportive and forum-like some of Twitter is.
    It's the same concept as why we chose who we do to hang with here: common interests, similar or compatible thinking, good humour.
    But, at 140 characters per Tweet, you'd probably be sunk. ;)
