That was my grandfather's attitude towards religion.
He was a scientist too, an entomologist.
For him the miracles in the bible just couldn't compare to the wing of a butterfly.
Or in his words, "Who's infinity is bigger?"

Too true...reality is just so awesome...so complex, so dynamic...and there's always another layer to the onion. (bigger, smaller...or even what you think you've known all this time...)
I'm not arrogant enough to think I've got it all. And anyone who does is fooling themselves.
I'm smart enough to know that.

Life, The Universe and Everything is snickering at us all the time.
    But it's a rush, nevertheless.

Took a break from unpacking to go grab lunch and catch up with some friends. They have the cutest puppy.

Today is my 297th day of sobriety. Only yesterday did I have my first craving. It sucked.

    LOL.

I'm pulling this crazy 14-hour day "to end all 14-hour days," and I've already had two queries today about editing books, one at 60,000 words and the other at 150,000 words.

I should do them both at the same time, right? Preferably start tomorrow, right?

Of course you should, you have been seriously slacking lately by the sound of it.

This might fall under "not so pointless" but I stopped caring on some level several rejections back when it comes to finding more income. Sounds my years of working in healthcare might actually get me a second job fairly quickly. It will involve driving and the standard chicken shit wages but anything would help. Those reasons would be the reasons I have not tried this option so far.

I know, right? I'm still not editing all the words. Look at all the words I'm not editing.

True story: my neighbor in my new apartment is my friend from my book club. Total coincidence.

Oh, yeah... got him on my desk right now. Bloody teeth and crooked gait. I'm guessing the HOA wouldn't be cool with me putting him on the front stoop.

  17. Don't guess! Put him out to test the water. Let 'em know who you are.

Just started to watch this Sharknado film, sounds like an epic masterpiece*

*if you use the term very loosely, much like calling Mitchell, Final Justice, or Manos: Hands of Fate 'good films'.

Just put a fake bullet hole in his head with an appropriate amount of 'blood' dripping from it, that will make them happy.

Those three films are cinematic masterpieces compared to Sharknado, @Speed_Gibson

My common sense tells me to wait until the Rifftrax commentary is available and skip the pain of "non-assisted viewing" (Rifftrax is the only way to watch the Twilight films), but it also told me to walk out of the theatre during both of the first two Star Wars prequels and I stayed with those until the bitter end. Just started it on netflix before I left for something else in that mysterious "outside".
Now that I think of it Sharknado sounds like it would have been an ideal film to give Joe Don Baker another starring role.
