It's officially summer! Woo Hoo, time to get our boat out!

 

Watching the original Escape to Witch Mountain and you know this as an "old film"* when Eddie Albert's character is only paying $10 for the petrol he puts in the RV.

*Have to put that in quotes when it is barely older than I am.

 

I saw that film in the cinema during its original run. Haven't seen it in years. How does it stand up?

 

Quite well I thought, I like it better it than the recent remake. Of course the effects are not so special compared to the new one but that is to be expected if you constrast the mid-70's and this era.
More importantly I like the cast better in the original. Donald Pleasance, Ray Milland, Denver Pyle, and Eddie Albert all rank higher in my book than "The Rock" and whoever else is in that new film that I forget now.

 

I remember seeing a little of it on tv many years ago and thinking the sfx were very dated, but I agree on the cast.

 

Getting an actual professional looking website up finally. Still not calling most of my pictures good enough for my portfolio (especially when looking at everything from the past 10 years) but it is a good feeling to start selecting and posting what does make the cut.

 

I don't know what it is, but the Indonesian women I am working with sure smell nice.

We are closer now to the date of the 2029 nuclear wasteland LA in Terminator than we are to the "present day" where the story takes place.

On that note, was it worse for Kyle for go back naked or the fact that he had to rob a hobo on the street of his clothes just to find some pants?
