I do too, it's wonderful the energy... (the smell)
I can't tell you how bored I was by San Diego, same damn thing every day. (70-75 degrees, clear by noon, no clouds) Like time didn't move.
When I came back to the East Coast. I was actually excited by "puffy" clouds and rain.

Give me action! (well, action while I'm safe...let's not go overboard)

No, we'd lost the sunshine by the time sunset rolled around.
Today is brought to you by the letter "L"... layers of lavender.
The residual clouds are a beautiful shade.

We got many weather warnings about possible severe t-storms for counties to the east of Houston. We did see some impressive lightening, and I'm thankful that it was very high in the sky.

Happy 71st birthday to my Dad!

Bootcamp was kickboxing-centric this morning. They told us to bring hand weights, and I was running late enough this morning that I didn't get around to getting the ones I think I still have in the basement. By the time I arrived, all the spares they had on hand had been taken, so I went scrounging around in the back of the field and found an 8lb and a 12lb.

I'm feeling a little lopsided today.

We had dark grey skies for most of the day with intermittent sprinkling, then just before dark it started with the thunderstorms. At the last few minutes before dusk, the whole Western sky lit up orange. Shone right through the clouds. Then at the last few minutes of sunset, it was orange, red and blue.
    Like I said, brilliant.

I just got an e-mail from amazon telling me I have a $150.92 book credit resulting from the anti-trust suit settlement against book publishers price fixing e-books.

I didn't think that there could ever be more drama on a Gordon Ramsay show...
This season of Hell's Kitchen is like Jersey Gordon Housewives of Los Angeles.

I just fist pumped for a Reese's Easter egg commercial.

And then I emphatically flipped off Neil Clark Warren.

Know why? I drank two cups of coffee today.

    Life is good.

...also, I'm about to rewind TiVo so I can flip off the motherfucking Duggars.

Mine was for a little over $14. I just bought 2 e-books and the credit was applied. Net cost was $0.91. I'll take that!

I've never watched that show, but I've seen a couple of his BBC shows. Ramsay alone is a one-man show.

just pondering my work history and goals...

hmm...I've worked with Gigabyte, Tera-byte and Peta-byte level environs and databases.
I guess my next goal would be Exabyte. (Link - to show scale)

Interesting and would look good on a resume, but not really my overall focus or fate.
I'm way more interested in functional analysis or data analysis. If I do the above, it would be simply by circumstance.
And for a career arc, it's likely I'll be pushing for leadership roles instead...if I stay in IT.
and I do that, I'll try to get more into CTO or CIO levels, with higher & higher capacity entities.

I'd like to get my Masters in Data Science, my PhD in Physics.
The Masters used for my "day job", the PhD used for my own side-work in Physics.
Although, I could use them in combination, with a gig as a Data Scientist, doing scientific data analysis.
Or pushing the physical/physics thresholds of DBs and the handling/manipulation of large volumes of data. (see VLDB.org)

Or I could retire from IT, and become a fully employed Physicist. (but I don't know if I'd like that, they may not get paid as much...I hate grant hustling)
Or I could not focus on either...and push my own business and grow that. Leveraging my inventions.

Or I as fate would have it (and will), I could just stay in one job...or bounce from one to another, staying at the same level.
And come home exhausted, veggin' in front of the TV and spending time with the family. (if I'm lucky enough to get one)

Tell you the truth, strangely enough I've succeeded despite myself.
It was never a goal to be what I am, it just flowed that way. Climbing by survival & circumstance. (what's doable?)
Maybe that's my fate...wandering here & there, helping out and investing at the time, because there's a need (and I get paid for it)
And slowly (or quickly) gaining level just because I happened to over time...and I'm audacious enough to say, sure why not. (I need a job)
Like Bruce Banner, but not as a raging Hulk...but as his alter ego.
Hate to say it, that's what is more likely to happen...I've never been one for goals and discipline, I just do it.

Anyways...no announcement...just something I should have put in a blog. But I don't do those.
And as usual, talked too much as my mind wandered.
