    When I asked Snowy about making her own mochi, this is what I wanted to know if she was doing. My old Kendo club does this at the beginning of every year to celebrate the opening of the dojo. It starts as rice and ends up mochi.

    We do it a lot slower than the video but one folds while the other uses the mallet.

    I seriously need to start taking Gonkwon Yusul classes soon. It's basically hapkido's version of judo or Brazilian jujitsu. It's pretty much a night of sparring in grappling/groundwork situations. It'll give me a chance to figure out if I'm learning anything in that respect, and to figure out what I need to work on.

    We missed the snowiest January. But we did have the snowiest Jan since 1979, and the 3rd snowiest after '79 and 1918. We are in line for 6"-10" total. An hour or two the news showed my area with between 6-7" already down. But at least the wind isn't kicking like crazy this time.

    The country trucks were out spraying brine at 6:30 am, before any snow fell. Now, with the roads a mess and cars going sideways, they are nowhere to be found. The only customers calling are the ones an hour round trip away on a clear day.
    After I leave work, I get to traverse the entire Metro northern boundary for an all nighter at the recording studio. Good times!
