There are no fewer than three (3) annual Toronto-area science fiction & fantasy conventions, and I've been to none of them.

This is something I'll have to remedy.

I keep looking at the cons in Portland, but none have really enticed me. Too many fandoms outside of the ones I'm interested in. I'd be better off going to a strictly Star Trek or anime convention, I think.

I've never been to any convention anywhere but I'm not good in crowds so...it might not ever happen. Other than too many people, they sound fun, though. I could definitely get with the fangirling. ;)

I usually go to one sf convention per year.

We're signed up in the lottery for tickets to the San Diego Comic Con (unlike other cons, you can't just go to it), but I don't think it's likely we'll be selected.

It's exactly the SDCC that gives me the heeby-geebies. That thing is crowded. But I'd love to experience it (without the crowds).

The water around the inside of my water bottle's cap was frozen by the time I rode home from bootcamp.

    Awesome.

I found the numerical symmetry interesting in a hey lookie kinda way.

Edited to note my Lady thought this post was rather obscure. Making clear that I found the 282/828 symmetry of posts/likes followed by the 00 00 00 00 00 of @zombiesquirrel 's countdown a pointlessly interesting moment of hmmmm.

Just came back from seeing American Hustle. Loved the movie and the acting performances were great.

You forgot the milk/cream gravy. I love having leftover biscuits, at room temperature, with a cup of hot tea late in the afternoon. My American version of (British) tea & biscuits.

One can use Metro (the name for our mass transit system) to get around Houston.

But it takes forever if you're going very far, Houston is a sprawling city. I'm not going look this up, but I think that LA & Houston are the two largest cities in land miles.

And there are some areas, namely the bordering incorporated cities & towns protected from annexation by Houston, with no bus service. One of our neighbors was dedicated Metro rider (don't be too impressed, he rode the bus because he had two DWIs very close together), and we frequently drove him to places he couldn't get to by bus, or taking the bus was a major PITA.

I woke up this morning to find two totally different tweets of mine favorited by someone whose description says: "Creative social media marketing/branding, nightlife influencer & scumbag."

    Cool, I guess.

That guy followed me within the past 8 hours. I didn't follow him back. I tend to limit my following of of "social media professionals." I mean...what the fuck do they even do?
