Yes, but that's pretty much the same for all of the predators. Most of them won't attack humans unless they are 'hungry.' Wolves seem to be particularly maligned in the human psyche. Or, I could be wrong but it seemed to me just now when I read that headline about the 'hungry beasts.'

Oh, and when a predator is sexy, it's always a jungle cat.

I just heard the term "struggle cuddle" for the first time while watching a game called DayZ: Standalone. (zombie-apocalypse)
A guy was getting slashed by a zombie while live-streaming and he was yelling the zombie was raping him.
A viewer told him it wasn't rape, it was a struggle cuddle.

Apparently the term has been in use a while. It's on Urban Dictionary as a polite way to say rape.

In the specific instance of the 1911 wedding party, "exceptionally severe weather" was said to have made the wolves "frantic with hunger."

This took place in a remote part of Czarist Russia -- what is now Uzbekistan.

The wedding party was traveling on a series of sledges to the site of the banquet, when, according to the New York Times, "the horses suddenly became restive, and the speculation of the travelers turned to horror when they discerned a black cloud moving rapidly toward them across the snowfield."

There must have been a thousand or more wolves; only two out of 120 people managed to get away. Not the bride or the groom.

Assuming someone cleared this up, but as a die-hard BSG-fangirl, I must clarify. I have no love for the series made in the late 1970's or 1980's. It was garbage with a couple of interesting ideas. The series was reinterpreted in the early 2000's as a Sci-Fi channel miniseries, then as a full-fledged TV show, one of the best TV dramas of all time, that ran for four years.

Toss the whole "sci-fi" aspect of it aside and prepare to have your world rocked if you ever truly wish to give the series a serious go.

For context, we are a family excepting my spouse, of nerds. We had a great discussion yesterday about the captain's (Edward James Olmos) son, 'Lee Adama" (Jamie Bamber, an English actor), a/k/a "Apollo," and his character trajectory. My brother (age 48) and son (age 21) had quite a few lively exchanges. Quite fun. The show is very much for people that prefer their TV with some food for thought.

Oh! Thank you for that important clarification.

Note that science fiction content is a positive for me, not a negative.

I don't know how I missed the return of Battlestar Galactica, except to say, during the early 2000s, my attention was focused on my own health, and then on a very intense and all-consuming effort for more than a year.

    You are very welcome.

I sort of meant the very bad reputation that the now SyFy channel has regarding it's original series. It airs them out of sequence, trucates them, etc.
When I found out last week that my son had taken to streaming the series from the beginning as a first-time viewer, I checked on Amazon to see how much it would set "Santa" back to purchase it. It's currently going for under a third of its original retail cost. So it ended up under the tree and is now being put to good use. :)
    Hope your health has improved.

I had long-overdue major surgery in 2002. Life has been better since then.

I freely admit that--as a dude--the Battlestar Galactica reboot from the 2000s gets my panties wet.

It did more in four seasons than most shows do in their ridiculous, blown-out 10 season runs.

Regardless of whether or not you're into sci-fi, it is great storytelling with fantastic actors.

    ...

My woman just messaged me a picture of her on a couch next to a Christmas tree with a baby goat chewing on her chin.

"This is Rocky. I want to take him home." Just what I need, another thing drooling on me in bed and demanding meals.

Same person who got me addicted, sent me this Portlandia clip yesterday after I described my Christmas BG marathon, sprawled out on my couch in my pajamas drinking red wine and eating xmas candy.

Jesus christ, I've just realized the consequences of having a child with wedding fever.

Did you know there was such a thing as engagement photos? I never heard of them.

Ugh, my MIL tried to convince us to have them done. We let my FIL take a few pictures of us instead. I'm not wearing any makeup and my hair is crazy but we looked natural and just-engaged. We used it for our save the date.

I must confess, I'm a wee bit envious of @mixedmedia being mother of the bride--as I have only sons.
Because I've not seen her be stereotypical in any way, I'm assuming that MM will be a unique, kick-ass MotB. Very exciting time! Can't wait to hear more as the process moves along.
