They've been talking about it for a while. They've been together for seven years, living together for six of them, and they're pretty much perfect for each other.

In my experience, that's the best way to go about it.

Have I mentioned lately how awesome my husband is? He really is the best. He spent a significant amount of time today helping me finalize my poster for my presentation on Saturday, proofing it and making sure it looked PERFECT. It does look really great. I can't wait to see it printed.

I'm pretty sure I heard @geneticshift all the way over here in NC. I don't think she likes me tonight.

Did I tell you about the wee-tarded stuff that happened that last time I was in Baton Rouge? Hoo... adults behaving poorly.

And--no shit--they had a sign that said "BEWARE OF 'GATORS."

    ...

Heh, I have zero idea what the context is but I like'd this anyway.

11 degrees. And four more hours to go.

I'm here for five more hours, that is, until 8:00 am EST.

And this is only the first of four overnights.

Hi @omega and @streetpattern - I'm awake too. Eleven degrees, that's downright balmy.

Without being overly specific, I'm in charge of an office with about 30 employees.

Right now, we have a vendor in our facility, with a team working around the clock to meet an external deadline.

It is necessary for this work to be done here in the office, because it involves materials which are not mobile.

For legal and security reasons, someone from the office has to be here while they are here.

Rather than force one of my staff to work all night, and pay them overtime, I'm doing it myself.

Nice. Because your office is still functioning during the day.

My iPod is out of power, and I don't have the cable here to recharge it, but it occurred to me that I can play music off my iPod library on this laptop. So I just now started playing my main playlist (almost 700 songs) in random order.

    Yup.

Right now, the music playing is something Balkan/Roma. Hard-driving, high-energy "Bulgarian wedding music", technically.

Hm, there's a Wikipedia article about that: Bulgarian wedding music - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Outside, it's in the high 50s, Fahrenheit.

(Me, I think Celsius is for chemistry, and Fahrenheit is for weather. That's because, in Fahrenheit, the high-definition 0-100 range is reserved for temperatures of ordinary human experience; numbers below 0 or above 100 signify extreme environments.)
