Pointless Announcements

BBQ? Lame. I like them hot, hot, hot. They need to blister my mouth. I also want to feel it the next day. Otherwise it isn't good enough.

 

I like variety, which is why I like to go to Wild Wing. I don't have a regular wing buddy at the moment (which is sad), but I used to go with a guy who could pack a lot of food away and keep up with me. We'd order three or four flavours, and one or two would be hot, hot, hot, while the others were savoury deliciousness.

And beer.

 

Yup, I like to have a couple different kinds in each sitting. Last night I did some honey sriracha wings and some BBQ wings using sauce we can get here locally at the farmer's market from a guy who lives in town. He uses ghost peppers and habaneros in the BBQ sauce, so it has a BIG kick to it. The wings were awesome, and were very spicy.

So of course that meant I had to drink beer.

 

You know you've been sick as a dog when it has been a week since you left your house (except a brief doctor's appointment) yet are not at all stir crazy.

 

We have Buffalo Wild Wings for variety--that's about the extent of it in this town if you don't want just hot/BBQ as choices. BWW does have some really nice Asian-style on-the-hotter-side sauces--Asian Zing and Thai Curry are both really tasty, flavorful, and hot enough that I definitely feel it the next day. Their lone vegetarian item kind of sucks.

Once, we went there on a Tuesday, which is cheap wing night, so I'd ordered a dozen hot wings, and he had ordered their black bean burger. The guy delivering our food looked at me, and said, "Black bean burger?" "Uh, no. I'm the hot wings." He seemed really taken aback that I was the one ordering hot wings and that my husband was the vegetarian. We had a good laugh over his obvious discomfort and surprise. It also left us scratching our heads, as we both know lots of male vegetarians.

I think I can hang on until tomorrow for cheap wings.

 

That's pretty much what they've told me the last couple of physicals.

It ticks my wife off.

It's the same with my husband--likes their sauces, but their black bean burger sucks. We usually go when it's happy hour so he can get cheaper snacks, since that's about the only thing he can eat there.
