My Captain Mal pants are on backorder. I called to see when they'd come in. The lady said "7 to 10" and I was sad, thinking the next word would be "weeks." Nope. The next word was "days." Huzzah!

 

There is a major Facebook freakout going on right now re my nursing class. Some folks (a lot of folks) have been randomly reassigned to different clinical groups. Issue being that we were all up at 7am on that day to fight for placement in our group of choice. I'm still in 'my group.' But looking today, I see that my group is full of different people than were there initially. I predict a shitstorm.

 

What kind of asshole tells a woman who is heartbroken about leaving her sweet walleyed pup at the kennel for 12 days "not to worry, because after 2 days they don't remember or miss you." Holy fucking insensitivity, Batman.

 

An asshole that only has cats.

 

Asshole being the operative word there.

 

I've only personally met one intelligent person who works within the walls of a PetSmart facility.
Fucking idiots made her bawl and she's been convinced for the past few hours that her pup is not only not going to miss her, but won't even remember her.
I'm feeling very aggro. It might also be impacted by the fact that I painted my fingernails a lavendery-pink and now I feel like I have to prove something.

 

Well. I work with those people...a person shouldn't listen to other people.
Anyone that knows a dog knows that they remember a long time. My dog remembers where he last found a chicken bone in the parking lot for at least 60 days. Dogs remember. It's their curse, lol.

 

This made me laugh SO hard.

Still...what an asshole.

 

I feel that pain. My toenails are a powdery metallic blue that was supposed to be navy.
I hate it when that happens.

 

I did it on purpose, this time. I gave up on trying to that THAT blue. I have nine bottles of blue nail polish. And they're all wrong.
I thought this would look pretty with my ring and such. Have a few get togethers this week and I gots my hair did again, so I thought I'd give it a try.

 

I've no doubt that your cats remembered you. I like to think our cats remembered us when we came back.
Dogs just make it more obvious.

 

If you've ever seen a video of a returning service man/woman from a long deployment overseas,
and their pet's reaction to their return, then nobody would have any doubts about a pet's memory.

 

Wednesday.

 

Let it be known that I love all my pets. And I don't really care if they remember me when I get back home. I remember them and they seem to appreciate the walks and the food and the clean litter trays. That's enough for me.

 

This cat. This goddamn fucking cat. Has spent 1/3 of his day in time out.
And is currently sprawled across my printer and onto the desk because he is too long and he has worn himself out by being an asshole all day.
Terrible twos. 12 hours in a car to Louisiana in 34 days. Fuck me.

Just watch, he'll be a prince the whole trip. I am convinced that animals love nothing more than to thwart our expectations.

 

I almost bought a Strat today. Almost.

Musicians, have you ever picked up an instrument and just had it resonate with you? It feels right, it plays wonderfully, it sounds beautiful, different from any instrument you've played but familiar all at the same time?
My local guitar shop has a history of having multiple guitars like these in stock. The guitars themselves aren't anything special, not anything expensive, not anything that anyone else might want for any reason, but for some reason they just resonate with me.
I bought one such guitar about a year ago (my Kramer Nightrider), and if I had the cash lying around, I'd have a Strat to add to my growing list of guitars.

And I don't normally even like Strats.
