Everybody is all, "I'm an introvert! Ooo, I'm sensitive." But then they get around people that like them and turn into a mask'd Jim Carrey.

 

Sensitive? Not so much. Awkward and nervous with a slight case of stuttering, yes.

This playlist is what aired on August 1st, 1981. I decided not to do just the first 25, though, since I like some of the later songs more. Here's the list, in the order they aired.

Edit: most of the stuff from '81 isn't what you'd expect, though. I think it took a couple years for bands to really get into music videos, so the really great, really memorable ones that got heavy rotation, that we normally associate with the "Golden Age of MTV," didn't come along until 1983 or so.
