What I've always wanted was a place like the warehouse loft in the film Diva...

Love that first room. I've actually always wanted a traditional washitsu. But I also want a traditional library like the one I saw at Casa Loma.

I can't find a picture that accurately represents what my perfect living room looks like... but I think a line from the Time Traveler's Wife captures it perfectly: "My apartment is basically a couch, an armchair, and about four thousand books."

That's pretty close. I like lighter colors, and there'd have to be a huge window on the side we can't see . But yes, I would be rather happy in that room.

I'm currently paring down books I'm not crazy about and/or can get from the library. I like proper use of limited space. And I'm moving in six weeks.

I have to leave most of mine behind for a year. I'm going to feel naked.

I have pared down my books before. Twice in the last five years actually. And, while my non-school books have started to rebuild (slightly) I really can't imagine giving up anything that I have. Every one of them is either: something I've read and loved; something I haven't read but I'm sure I will love; old illustrated children's books that are weird and fabulous; and a large variety of art, pinup and photography books. Once I get out of school, I intend to get back to reading...

That said, I don't like to let things pile up, either. I compulsively get rid of shit that I don't use, don't need. The books I have just don't fit into that category. :)

I've sold back a lot of school books I'll never use again. And I did sell and donate a TON of books about 6 years ago... I forgot about that. But I have some that mean a lot to me that I'll never part with. Ooooh, I'm going to start a new thread when I get home!

Lazing about in an airport hotel. Nice spot. Got out of PDX at midnight and the two hour drive home didn't appeal. This was a great idea.

There's a strong possibility that I'll be helping teach/supervise Robot Camp for middle schoolers. Aside from worrying that I won't know enough about what we're doing (and the teacher is bringing me the program, a robot, and a book so I can give myself a crash course), I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS, YOU GUYS.
