Day 2 of Paleo flu.. it feels like the worst hangover of your life, but you didn't at least get the fun of the shenanagins first.

GeneticShift Show me your everything is okay face.

It's really disconcerting to see my face as Plan9 's avatar. I keep reading posts and going I DON'T REMEMBER SAYING THAT.

    Then I remember.

    It's also kind of awesome.

I want to know what is going through Stanley's head when he's gets up on the love seat, lays down for only a minute or two, starts sighing very heavily over and over again, gets down from the love seat, walks 2' to the couch (that is EXACTLY THE SAME material/softness/height), climbs up on the couch, lays down, lets out one big sigh, then immediately falls asleep.

( amonkie ) Never heard of Paleo flu before. I think we used to call it carb crashing or something like that in the old days. Good luck on the diet. I hope it works for you.

The brain needs 60g of carbs in a day to function. Just FYI.

Not going carb free - just cutting out legumes/grains/dairy/refined sugars/processed food. I've gotten the sugar withdrawl headaches before on the elimination allergy diets, so that is not a new thing.

It works though... 9 lbs down. Best part is my skin is beginning to clear up from the allergy induced acne, and my stomach feels better than it has in months.

I've just cut out gluten for most of 2 years. That was hard, but paleo would be a bit harder. Me and the wife are thinking about it. She's got reactive hypoglycemia and her doc told her the "no white" diet or paleo might help. I'm game, but she loves her Mt Dew...

Which is funny, since they're talking about a system of governance based entirely on one religion.

For the record, I have never been against secularism but some countries (France.) seem to think that exceptions should never ever be made, which I agree with as much as religious countries not catering to other beliefs at all.

I get what you are saying, and agree. Atheists, or other secularists, don't need to expect religious organizations to follow non-religious principles. It is kind of silly. Now expecting the gov't to stay out of religion is good for all involved.

It isn't possible to pop a wheelie on my BMW.

Seriously, the bike is light and over-powered, it ought to be easy. However, the traction control kicks in so fast that the instant the front wheel lifts, the engine detunes and drops it back down.

My inner thrill seeker is pissed, my inner engineer is impressed.

The best way to learn how to apply an armbar takedown from a neutral stance seems to be when it's taught by a black belt who has at least 50 lbs. on you.

It is my professional opinion that this is the best course of action. I approve of this initiative.

In my nursing school career I have accumulated, now, more than 30 books. This includes pre-req books like micro, anatomy & phys, nutrition, medical terminology...but it's a lot of books and I don't have any one place to put them all.

In my experience there is little more satisfying in this life than having a bookshelf dedicated to a single type of book (such as medical/biology books)—in my case, pre-20th century literature.

Yeah, I've never really done that with books before, but I would like to put a shelf that will hold them all here in my room...somehow. It's kind of crowded, though. Perhaps I could make a vacation project out of rearranging my room so's that I could fit one. Which sounds like a really good idea now that I've thunked it...yes.
