Pointless Announcements

I might end up doing that tomorrow night...or tonight or whatever.

 

Heh, I thought at first she was the killer.

 

Spent Thursday setting up and doing a show on the stage where I have watched some big names perform. Those names include Joe Cocker, Steve Miller Band, Foreigner, and The Beach Boys. What a rush, we were pushing 40,000 watts of power and the crowd was fucking going off! I'm still on the high that I got from from that show.

Been sleeping very sparsely over the past 2-3 weeks.

Finally everything was done this morning and I immediately threw myself on my bed (now known as Mattress of Eternal Bliss).

13 hours, mofo

 

I've officially been with Lordeden too long. We're going shopping, and the thought of spending too much money is making me twitch.

It's like I don't even know me anymore.

Apparently it is so popular they run out right away once they tap it. So I am having a Lexington Kentucky bourbon stout instead. Good thing I live across the street.

 

For me that might be a bad thing. Depending completely on where my head was at while I lived there.

 

I'm good. Picking up Panda for myself and the wing nut. One benefit to living in a mecca, of sorts, very little driving called for in a pinch.

 

Yeah, my move from the beach house to the city has the added benefit of being within a five minute walk of a decent fresh fruit/veg. market and they just opened a half sized food mart. There's a few cantinas within walking distant as well and we're starting to explore them. This past winter/spring I just felt like crap and didn't want to socialize.

I'd be fine now living next to great hang out. But there's been a couple times in my life it might have gone bad, really bad really fast. In the Navy had I not regularly spent weeks at sea working 17-20 hours days I could see myself getting out of control. I did two "West-Pac's" (Cruise of the Western Pacific, went so far west once we ended up on the east coast of Africa) On my second West-Pac I don't think there was one port that I didn't end up in some alcohol related scrape. I have pictures of myself standing on small islands in the South Pacific and have no memory of being there. Didn't help that the ship's rec fund would throw wild ass two day parties where all you could drink was free. In the Philippines and Thailand they raffled off hookers every hour. In one port, I can't remember which, shipmates were paying little kids to go to the pharmacy. The ship stationed shore patrol to keep sailors out and the kids would go in and buy "ludes" for 5 cents. Myself I'd never do that . Many times it was simply institutionalize and sponsored insanity. After receiving my DD-214 I drove from San Diego to Salem without sleeping but with chemical help. I met my six month old daughter for the first time. I was in japan when she was born. I remember holding her for the first time, I'd never really even considered it. I was really looking forward to seeing her but when did it hit me like a ton of bricks. "Holy hell, I'm responsible for another person? Shit! I'm not even responsible for myself on most days." I didn't drink again until she turned about 7.
