First thoughts on House -
His accent is all bloody wrong! No offense to his fine American accent, but After Black Adder, Fry & Laurie, etc. this feels as strange as hearing Tom Cruise doing a perfect Scottish accent. Whatever, I can deal with it. It does help separate this character from his BBC work.

 

House was great and all, but after a while it just felt so repetitive.
It was like, person gets sick with mysterious illness, House spends the episode bucking the rules of the hospital while pissing off his subordinate doctors, then after a few misdiagnoses, he saves the patient at the last second.

I watched for 3 seasons, quit for a couple, then came back. I missed most of Olivia Wilde's seasons.

The vicodin thing is nice ticking time bomb type plot device. No way that ends well or peacefully.I would be happy enough to borrow the whole season 1 DVD box set after the seeing the pilot, but that is not an option. So I will probably wach s1e2 shortly when it finishes streaming enough and then forgot about the show for ages until I consider seeing episode 3.
Random thought - if this show is in fact any good how did it last 8/9? seasons on FOX? They typically only let rubbage like American Idol run longer than 2 seasons or in the case of shows like Firefly must cancel them mid-stride and leave as many awkward unanswered story points as possible.
second thought - The first season at least might be an investment I will consider. Watching the first run of a show in glorious youtube worthy 360p video quality is not my first choice.

 

I agree with Fremen on House becoming repetitive. I also thought many of their stories kind of ran out of steam before the hour was up. Might have been better as a 45 minute program, as if that would be possible. But it was entertaining when I found the time to watch.

 

These episodes are 43 minutes on strreaming. They expect you to enjoy 17 minutes of advertisements when viewed on the television screen?

 

I agree that the first seasons of House were the best. The original cast and story lines were outstanding. I thought some of the action became rather contrived after that.

Changing the subject: It's been a decent Father's Day. Finally went to see Star Trek Into Darkness. Feeling plenty of love from QW and my children. The Tigers just defeated the Twins.

Happy Father's Day to the dads and the ones that make that role worthwhile and satisfying!

scientific discovery no. 19: pushing a full-size pickup truck up a slight grade while wearing trooper-class competitive shooting gear is greatly benefited by starting with your feet on grass instead of gravel.

truck push + burpees + run + pushups + 25 meter bullseye + 6 meter quick draw, bill drill and zombie tap.

crossfit + shooting = RAWRSOME.

 

I don't know about anyone else, but I find scientific discovery #7 to be more relevant to my daily life.

 

If it helps, I followed up with no. 7 immediately after no. 19.
