    True story: my final project in one of my classes is an eight slide PowerPoint presentation. Those 8 slides include a title slide and a reference slide. I didn't start until this morning because the presentation is all on my existing research. It took about an hour to put it all together. Not bad. It would've been shorterb if I hadn't felt obligated to find some additional articles.

    Long day.

    Rode the bike to my wife's race. Had a ton of friends who either ran in, sponsored, or cheered on racers. So we went to lunch with 20-ish friends after that. Rode the bike some more. Went to a graduation party/picnic, since it was outdoors Stanley was invited and he ate up all the attention from the kids. Rode the bike some more. Went to a wine tasting. Now I'm contemplating whether I want to sit out on the patio and light a fire, or lay in bed and watch TV. Right now the idea of laying in bed and watching TV is winning out.

    It figures.. the weekend my boyfriend is out of town and I have events to go to by myself (that I paid for tickets to), I get sick. I've spent all day today laying around on/in my bed catching up on TV shows, planning a trip, and napping with my cats.

    I want to go to the arts festival tomorrow, but I think apathy is going to win out instead. I missed an entire day today of nice weather because I just feel blah and sorry for myself.

    Went to a Chicago park and loaded up a F150 Truckbed's worth of mulch, and then drove home and unloaded same amount of mulch into our backyard. On the upside, we got roughly $150 worth of mulch for free. 45 minutes to shovel it all in and get it covered, and then an hour and a half to get it all out and spread. I totally skipped the wine and went for bourbon.

    We tried a new BBQ place as a treat for working hard today - we will DEFINITELY be back. They smoke the meat right in the shop. Best pulled pork I've ever had. Might even give Borla a run for his money.

    My weird kid:
    So I wake up this morning and she's still up. Been up all night because she's a natural night owl, like her father. She's a good kid and out of school for the summer, so I let her handle her time the way she prefers. She always adjusts back to her school schedule without a problem.
    I walk into the kitchen to see a note hanging out of the dishwasher door. It reads:
    "Dishes need to be washed purified." And there's a drawing of a ghost on it with its little hands held out in front of it like Mr. Burns.
    And I say, "what's this?"
    And she tells me, "It was the middle of the night and I didn't want to wake anyone up by running the dishwasher."
    I love my weird kid.

    Yesterday I went to the Detroit Tigers vs. Cleveland Indians baseball game with my mum and brother and it was an enjoyable afternoon game. Beer, hot dogs and cotton candy was consumed.

    I miss going to Mariners games with my dad. We have the same priorities. After I turned 21, we went to a game with my little brother in tow. My bro headed to the game on time while Dad and I went and drank beers at the Pyramid Alehouse across the street. We made it to the game during the fourth inning and drank some more. Our seats weren't great but they had a fantastic view of the Blue Angels practicing for Seafair.

    My husband JUST NOW made the realization that Bilbo Baggins and John Watson are both played by Martin Freeman. I can't believe it. We even saw The Hobbit in the theater several months ago after we'd watched Season 1 of Sherlock.
