Thinking about buying a Google Nexus 7.
Talk me out of it.

 

I'm gonna be celebrating my 30th 29th birthday pretty soon. Or is it my 29th 30th birthday?

 

get the extended warranty if you do. Mine died and it is a known problem with them. You can take the back off and check for a loose battery connection but it did nothing for me.
Personally I am considering one of the HD kindles for the cheaper option or an iPad thimg for the higher option if I ever figure out this money thing. Nice tablet while it worked though.

 

Why? We love ours it gets used daily and on flights twice weekly. It's rad.

 

Hahaha. That's OK. I'm planning to celebrate my 40th birthday soon. For the 13th time!

 

The reason I asked is because even after reading some of the 1 star reviews of the Nexus 7 on Amazon, they're not enough to persuade me not to buy it, especially at the lowered 16gb price. (something like $230)
I wanted the opinions of people I trust to give me their cons. (thanks, Speed_Gibson)

It's a toss-up of the N7 or the Fire HD.

I use mine every day, as well. No complaints, thus far.

 

Picking this one to quote for this subject -
I liked it very much, I just made the call of not buying the replacement warranty which would have been stellar in this case. It had been quite a few years since a fairly expensive piece of electronics had failed on me.
The worst (maybe last) was back some years ago when I had a string of HD die on me - the 30-45 GB range if memory serves. Two of those were IBM Deathstar drives but the others were solid models.

The Nexus 7 is a superb e-reader and and an excellent viewer for Netflix. Those were my two main uses for it, and the 7" screen and thin body was perfect for watching while lying down without the bulk of a laptop.

 

Believe me, I feel the same way. I should only be like, 22.

 

I got carded today. It made me so happy.
Especially since I had no makeup on and feel like shit.

I'll be 32 this year....I think. I kind of stopped adding after 30.So far my 30s are 100 times better than my 20s.
