    Re-reading the LOTR series where I discovered Frodo Baggins is 50, Sam/Pippin/Merry are 29 when they take the ring to Elrond. Gandalf is 1000-1500 while Gollum is 560-600, which explains why he can defy gravity and hide so well.

    This sounds like a prime example of what should be a straight to DVD release.

    The part in the films where they conveniently cut out the 20 years that Frodo lives in the Shire after Bilbo disappears before leaving on the big trip to cut screen time was one of the bigger things that irked me. Overall good films but there were a few things in them that I did not care for.
