Not that I would or anything....

I like how I'm tagged in a post about porn featuring teenagers.

Actually, in Canada, it's considered child pornography if it features someone under the age of 18. The age of sexual consent and the age of subjects in pornographic materials are two different things. So you could totally do a 16-year-old, but you can't record it.

Also, it wasn't that long ago when the age of consent was 14. So as recent as 2007, you could totally do a 14-year-old, but you couldn't record it. You'd have to wait four whole years.

That was quite the spread.

If I had a teenaged son, those kinds of law differences would freak me out a bit and probably lead to quite a few lectures from me. A 17yr old boy could potentially have to register as a sex offender because he had a picture of his GF on his phone, even if they were close in age. There was a scandal at a local HS where a 16yr old girl sent her BF (he was 16 or 17) topless pics. When they broke up he forwarded them and they spread like wildfire. There was some discussion as to whether there were going to be 100s of child porn charges from it. I never heard the conclusion of it all, but I'm guessing someone somewhere decided not to ruin all those kids' lives over a couple of pics that were voluntarily given.

 

That's the issue right now with 17-year-old Rehtaeh Parsons, who committed suicide after she was gang raped and photos were spread around. Depending on what was depicted in the photos, it could have been child pornography that was spread around. At the school. In social media.

Seriously, kids. WTF?

 

Tumble would wear it. She wears antlers at Christmas. She'd also look happier about it.

 

You are right, that is very messed up.

But what I'm talking about I think is far more innocent, but could still have extremely damaging consequences for life. I mean, what 16yr old boy is going to tell his GF he doesn't want to see her boobs? And what 16yr old boy isn't going to tell his buddy "hey, let me see her boobs too". And bam, he's distributing kiddie porn if you stick to the letter of the law.
