It is shit compared to the book. And it's a wonderful movie.

You talk big. This book better not disappoint me, or I shall write you a strongly worded post.

  6. This Vagina Sabbatical is taking its toll on me. Thinking about Baraka_Guru writing a strongly worded letter is turning me on.

What font will you be using?

I absolutely agree with James Ellroy. If you want hard nosed-cops, sniveling criminals and terms like "shitbird", he's your guy. Put it this way - "LA Confidential" and "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" are equivalent books and movies. The thing is that the plot in "LA Confidential" is pretty different than what's in the movie - about 40% of the plot points in the book made it into the movie.

I've certainly heard of Ellroy. Thanks for the other recs.

Probably the default, but if I had my druthers, I'd use Palatino, which is a Linotype pedigree and a damn fine serif.

I need to read Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. It's been on my list since I found out Benedict Cumberbatch is in it along with Colin Firth. Hotness.

They made a great film from Pop 1280 called, Coup de Torchon with Philipe Noiret. If you haven't seen it. Do.

    Hahaha, awesome.

Check it: I was putting on my gym clothes and looked out the window and saw a frickin' solo cat jumping around in my back yard like Borla's rabbits.

It did a little paws-together-slapping-the-ground circle and then darted off into the woods.

    Weirdo.

You say weirdo, but I say it was a foiled assassin.

If you had failed to look out the window at precisely the time you did, you, sir, would be dead.

Just be grateful this one works alone.

You added more? I already had some of my own mines planted in your backyard and by your deck, hopefully those Bouncing Bettys in the mix haven't caused you too much trouble so far.
