I'm really good at procrastinating when it comes to doing homework.. by doing cleaning, filing, and other tasks that I've been putting off. At least something is getting done, right?

About to take my car in for phase 2 of maintenance. Timing belt, brake pads, oil change...and anything else they happen to find.
One of the most worthwhile things a person can do in life is find a good, trustworthy mechanic. We lucked onto one about 5 or 6 years ago - daughter #2 found him. It makes car repair so much less stressful...and less expensive.

The Beaver's a Cleaver, not a Mathers. He means Mr. Mathers of the Detroit Mathers.

Mathers is decent at bitching to a beat.
But the angry rich white man sounds silly.
I really dislike newer rap... I don't mind the old school stuff.
Actually, some days there's nothing like a little NWA or Ice Cube to make me feel better.

However, I do have to add an edit to my previous thought... White guys other than the Beasties. I can't think of any others that are even tolerable.

There are white guys who can rap really well. But rapping is more than rhyming to a beat. There is that subtle thing that you might call 'soul' that makes a rapper great and it is rooted, I think, in growing up behind a certain pair of eyes, in a certain color skin. I don't think anyone who hasn't been there knows exactly what that is, but they can parrot it, sometimes really well. I don't know what it is, but I can hear it. You see this not only in rap but in all forms of music. The Beasties are great, I love them a lot. But they are parroting, too. Eminem is a good rhymer, but a parrot.

IMO you can parallel it to someone who sings the blues, versus someone who sings the blues so well that YOU feel the blues.

...because only black people in American have had it tough enough to produce legit tunes in an entire genre of music?

Hmm. Makes sense... only white people were rich and decadent enough to participate in '80s cock rock.

I know it's 2013 and men are want to say ridiculous we're-in-this-together bullshit, but there is no male "I" or "we" in pregnant.

    It's simple biology.

I only call it the way I hear it. Whereas you are calling it the way you want to see it. I'll trust my own ears, thank you.

The real question is: Do Asians like AC/DC?

And I didn't say anything about 'toughness.' I am talking about a certain kind of experience. I hate that white defensive shit. You're so afraid someone's got something that you can't have.

I dunno, but I question anyone's taste who likes AC/DC. Woops. I just kicked dirt on the holy grail.
