Well I'm more slug then thug anymore so it's likely too late to go back and un-ring any bells. For the most part I have few regrets. Though I did have a 17 yr old kid piss himself once while I questioned him. Turned out he had absolutely nothing to do with the incident at hand. I'd convinced myself he was guilty as hell, turns out he had a little weed in his shoe and had never been arrested before. We did think he helped dispose of a 4 yr old girl's body but I always felt bad about that.

 

I'm just fucking with you. You don't have to air out your dirty laundry.

 

But.. but.. but confession is good for the soul. It's also a good place for priests to find new little boys to abuse so it's probably wash on whether it's a good thing or bad.

 

I'm generally against religion not only because it's a den of make-believe but because it's also--as of late--a den of child molesters.

I generally agree with all but the "as of late" comment. I think that's likely been going on since the beginnings of all religious cults.

My current partner's family is Catholic (big shock, so is 80-90% of everyone here) some more so then others. The riffs created by the level of commitment to the church is rather odd to watch. Even more strange when you're sucked into them. My GF told me when we first started seeing each other that she didn't believe in any of the churches teachings anymore but attended a mass every now and then. The most important being a mass for her father on the anniversary of his passing they hold every year. Lately however she and I have been knocking heads about the church. Her brother asked us to be the god parents of his kid. Very reluctantly I agreed, big mistake. I was told it was merely symbolic... wrong. A few weeks ago she asked me when I wanted to schedule my classes so I could officially join the church. "I sorry WTF did you just say!?!" "Well yeah you can't be the baby's god parent if you don't attend the baptism and you can't attend that if you're not Catholic, duh." "Well guess I'm out of the "be a god parent" game cause I'm not joining any church." She keeps telling me it's all symbolic and I keep telling her I'll be happy to go down and tell the Padre my thoughts on the church but I doubt he'll certify me a good Catholic when the conversation ends. She doesn't seem to like my counter offer.

 

Yeah, but wouldn't it be fair to say that priests used to fuck women too? I feel like we've been getting a lot of pedophile crap and not nearly enough normal hetero Priests Gone Wild! action.

It's been all really ugly and depressing... and has featured zero moments worthy of a "Good for him!"
