A woman today complimented me on my walk. I said "Thanks, I have been practicing since birth."

All I want to do is lie naked on a beach somewhere, with my wife and her sisters. Is that too much to ask?

SiriusXM, you rock. Listening to live music from Lollapalooza, without the annoying drunk teenagers. Only thing missing are the views, if you know what I mean, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.....:p:p:p

Rockies vs the pirates today. Girlfriend's work party is being held here, so we are in the picnic pavilion before the start of the game. First time here.[IMG]

That's on the list of stadiums I'd like to go check out. We both enjoy going to new cities and seeing new ballparks for the first time.

A single mom at my wife's work just bought her first place. It has a small yard and she doesn't have a lawn mower. My wife came home and asked me if I knew where her workmate (who she really likes) could find a cheap push mower. I said "my garage" and told her that I'd give her our mower for free, since she doesn't have a ton of money and could use a little help.

For the last two years I've had a lawn service mow our yard, so our mower has been unused. It is a Craftsman push mower with a 675 series Briggs & Stratton engine. I've had the mower 9 years, and the only thing I've done to it is change the blade once and put gas in it. For the last 26 months or so it hasn't even been started once (sad to admit that, lol). Just before I started having the lawn service mow I had thought to myself that I should have it gone over once to change the oil, spark plug, etc., but I never did once I got out of the habit of needing it. I told her to tell her workmate she could have it, but that it'd probably need serviced. One, because it was almost 10 years old, and two, because it has sat so long. I recommended a local guy who does it out of his house and will usually change the oil, spark plug, and do a general tune up for around $30.

So I just went out to the garage to see if the mower would even start. I put fresh gas in it and pulled the starter cord. Nothing. Pulled it a second time...and it fired right up. Let it run for a moment then shut it off. Started the next time on the very first pull. That motor is practically bullet proof. :p

My Mom had an excellent experience with knee replacement surgery this past Tuesday. And is now in the finest nursing facilty in Tulsa, all do to my Sister, for 20 days rehab therapy. Robin and I wanted to express our gratitude to the hospital staff. I bought a card and am going to write a thank you and mail it.
Is this enough? Or? Please help with your thoughts

Why does time go so fast the older we get? It seems like some cruel punishment for not being aware of time at all when I was young, or for wishing it away constantly. I look at my children and it's as if they are aging before my eyes. When I add up where they will be in ten years it physically hurts me to think about it. Once you become a parent you have no other identity. I've already become obsessed with what an empty nest will feel like and how I will even make it through the day.

Make sure that you mention names, and send a copy to the hospital HR and administrator.

Found a minor error in the commission calculation for one of my customers. It's basically just a rounding error, but has been going on for two years, meaning the total adds up to about a grand. Though it is obviously money owed, it is kind of like a little bonus.

I have been working at the bank for about 11 months now. I have just started the process of becoming a licensed banker. This means at the end of my training I will have my series 6 and 63, as well as a life and health insurance license. I theoretically could make investment recommendations to clients and also sell products based on those licenses. However, my bank doesn't work that way. Basically I can now talk to people a bit about their goals, find out what assets they have, and then refer them over to our advisors. It's not a bad position, because my job is to make them feel comfortable with the idea and then providing a warm handoff to either a telephone advisor or to a larger net worth advisor. I would get a referral fee, and that is why I need to be licensed. Out of about 1600 bankers in the company, only 80 or so are licensed. It also leads to opportunities down the road. And once I'm licensed, my base pay will get a pretty good jump. I'm not worried about the testing; I had my 7 and 66 10 years ago and that is more comprehensive licensing. So things are doing pretty well at my job.
