It seems to be my experience that you can have time to play games or money to buy games, but having both at the same time is the challenging part.

I'm at peace with the fact that I probably won't ever get around to playing every game in my library. In terms of entertainment expenditures, if you average out the amount I've spent over the last ~10 years I've had a Steam account vs. the amount of entertainment I've gotten out of it, I think I come out ahead.

I did pick up Planetary Annihilation in this sale, which I'm legitimately excited for. I loved Total Annihilation, so this is one that I'll be getting around to sooner rather than later. Perhaps we can find time for a head-to-head.

This sale was a huge success for me. I spent more on this sale than I have on every other Steam sale combined (which isn't actually that much).

I normally can resist many of the sales, but there was a good combination of "I've always wanted to play that" and "My computer can actually run that pretty decently" with a couple of "That looks really good...and cheap!"

This is how I cleaned up (all for under $70, or the price of one new release in some cases):
    • RAGE (with The Scorchers DLC)
    • Darksiders Franchise Pack
    • Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Complete Pack
    • Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
    • Banished
    • Rocksmith DLC:
    - Survivor "Eye of the Tiger"
    - Tommy Tutone "867-5309"
    - Steppenwolf "Born to Be Wild"
    - CCR "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?"
    - The Knack "My Sharona"
    - 3 Doors Down 3-Song Pack: "Kryptonite," "Loser," "When I'm Gone"
    - Blind Melon "No Rain"
    - The Guess Who "American Woman"
    - Megadeth "Symphony of Destruction"
    - Deep Purple "Smoke on the Water"

As much as I loved Supreme Commander the team behind it was one of the single most incompetent developer teams out there, and the only one I'd say rivals Sony Online Entertainment in sheer game-killing balance-ruining stupidity. I just can't bring myself to give those imbeciles any more money, especially after they dumped Supreme Commander while it was still badly broken in favor of selling everyone the patch to fix it as an "expansion pack".
