i would agree with this had we developed the small diameter bomb earlier or before the war, and we had built the sheer number of UAVs and trained all the operators to use them against all the targets we needed.

true enough (but what do i know? i get paid to go take classes), but are you going to be the one ripping the American flag out of some 2nd grader's hands because he's just doing what's popular? people aren't allowed to appreciate something after it's become popularized? or is patriotism something that you really despise regardless of how genuine it is? sure, there's plenty of redneck racist he-man woman haters that like to burn crosses and hurl pig guts at the "mandresses" but there are waaaay more decent folk worth the hassle of combat/glorified babysitting who agree with the idea of putting foot to ass on the people that flew a bunch of aluminum, fuel, and bodies into our temples to capitalism.

The tongue-in-cheek remarks about "The War" being over, mostly. Or maybe I'm just bitter because I didn't get to blow a minivan up with a M203. Who knows? Either way, I get it. A lot of guys that signed up like two years ago will never see a deployment and they feel cheated somehow. And it sucks. Because the Salty Old Dawgs will piss in the cargo pockets of the Cherry Nobodies because they don't have any "Sand Time" or whatever.

On the flip side, though, the odds of you losing your limbs / getting TBI'd if you enlist right now are at an all time low.

I've mentioned numerous times that A-stan (OEF) served a purpose. I just can't get behind the whole Iraq thing.

I'm all for putting a foot in someone's ass. It's what America used to be about. But now we fly off to some third world shit hole to shoot a guy's son... and then pay off his mortgage. What's up with the reparations game? We went there to break stuff in the first place because they did something to Summon the Kraken, right? What's up with occupation? What's up with hearts and minds? It's a money pit. Enough. You can't make people love apple pie and baseball like that, so why bother? Nobody wants the Imperialist Pigdog wiping their ass and holding their hand. Especially not our buddies in Iraq. Everybody likes our money, though. And life support providers and private security companies can't get enough of it.
