  1. And Mike Zimmer is leaving the Bengals and going to be the head coach at Minnesota. Booooooooo. It's cold up there.

    I'll cut a bitch.

Regardless of who wins the AFC, it'll be interesting to see how the QB's legacy is affected.

Manning has had historic trouble winning in the post-season, so what happens if he loses in the SB?

Brady has lots of hardware, but he's lost his last two tries. What happens if he loses his third in a row?

However it turns out, I think there'll be a lot of pressure on the AFC team

Oh now, I wouldn't call the Bengals or their fans 'bitches.' Just like I wouldn't call them winners.

After four everyone starts comparing him to Jim Kelley. After five he gets a free Papa Johns pizza which he of course also chokes on.

I don't think Manning or Brees has anything to worry about, unless one of them chokes big time in the AFC championship game, which I don't see happening. I'm looking forward to hearing less and less about both of them.

Think you're right about the Hawks V. 9ers but fear you're wrong about the NFC AFC outcome. I figure Denver will roll any of the remaining other three. I'd never root for an AFC team. Maybe the Texans just because them wining seems to piss of cowgirl fans. Grew up in a 9ers household. My dad was a die hard 9ers fan and after the 'snowball game' in the 80's he hated Denver to the point he wouldn't get on a plane if it had a Denver lay over. In his memory I hope they fall flat on their faces somehow but they seem to be hitting on all the right highs at the right time.

When Houston got the Texans franchise, it screwed up the televising of cowgirls games in the Houston area. I was a happy SOB when I found about that, and got great pleasure from reminding my friends who were cowgirls' fans. They were sorely pissed!

I'm partial to the 49ers only because they used knock the cowgirls out of the playoffs. If CK develops into a top notch QB, the 49ers might be a forced to be reckoned with for quite a few years. Some QBs can run, CK can really fucking run.

The Seahawks might be the sleeper team that surprises everyone, but I dunno  .

Since moving south of the border I've had the pleasure of watching the Cowgirls lose to Houston twice while in the Admirals Club at DFW. Both while on long layovers headed to Oregon. Most recent was a pre-season game where the Texans just stomped the shit of the girls. Before the game started it was all "alright boys lets get ready to watch our 'Boy's kick some Houston wanna be's NFL players asses." By half time it was all "well it's pre-season.... this game means nothing."

I like CK well enough but I'm seriously no fan of the head coach. Jim H. seems to bitch whine and moan over every freaking call that doesn't go his way. I remember watching a some meaningless mid season game with the 9ers firmly ahead and for so unknown reason Harbaugh started getting all pissy when Gore was marked short on a third down run. He was clearly short... by lot. If anything the ref's spotted him 1/2 a yard which still left him 2 yards short. Harbaugh had red flag in hand which matched his red face. I think an assistant OC talked him out of throwing it. When a head coach gets worked up over bad calls, espec. obviously bad calls, I can and do respect that. Harbaugh takes issue with just about any call that doesn't favor the 9ers.Often it's just embarrassing as a long time 9er fan. Not only embarrassing but but dangerous. I'd send him a nice bound copy of the "Boy who Cried Wolf" if I thought he could connect the dots. I also find CK's kissing his bicep a little annoying. I still love them and their my main team. I've stuck with them through a lot of very lean years and a decade of seriously great teams/players.

I could certainly live with a Hawks SB win. If they take out SF Sunday I'll be cheering the on without hesitation. That said I'm also not a fan of the Hawks head coach either. Didn't like him when he was a college coach, don't care for him now. He acts like a water/ball boy or cheerleader more often then a head coach. And I don't watch every game but many I've seen he strange makes calls or takes time outs at odd times in my opinion. His clock management worries me at times. I look at the Hawks success as being in spite of him rather than due to him.

Bottom line is I love the 9ers and I really like the Hawks. Hands down my two favorite NFL teams- in that order. But not a fan of either team's coach. And there's no way in hell I'd root for any team being coached by Bill O'Cheat or Denver over the 9ers or the Hawks.

Tully, I started a book called The Code, which I decided not to finish reading. I did read the chapter on stealing signals, and the author made a pretty good case that Bellichek wasn't the only coach who crossed the line, he just happened to be the one who got caught. And he wouldn't have gotten caught with a smoking gun except one of the Patriots' game film guys decided to cooperate with the NFL investigation and turn over some films that could've easily been destroyed.

    FWIW.

Ted Bundy wasn't the only serial killer on earth either. That fact doesn't make me like him more.

  13. I was thinking yesterday... Would I hate the Patriots if Brady and Belicheat weren't there? Possibly not. I mean, I really liked Welker and was so happy when he went to Denver. I felt like I could like him and not feel guilty.

I just really hate Brady and Belicheat.

Brady grew up near SF and was a huge 9ers fan as a kid. He's often stated Joe Montana was his inspiration to play the game. I was rather positive to neutral regarding the Pats prior to the Bill O'Cheat scandal. I seriously think old Bill should have been banned for life. Hell all Pete Rose did was place bets and he's out for good. Granted MLB and the NFL are not exactly the same but cheating should be dealt with seriously and quickly. As long as he's coach I'll root for any team they play... except of course the cowgirls. That river of loathing runs deep and swift. About the only player/coach I have less respect for is the rapist in Pitt.

  15. Sigh. Oh Pete. I'd still hate the Steelers if they didn't have the rapist. I, a Miami U Alum, disowned him when he went to Pittsburgh. Then all his raping came to be, so he's dead to me.

It's looking pretty good for Denver right now. Maybe Peyton will have his last hurrah.

Congrats to Peyton and the Broncos. I didn't know if the defense could uphold their end of the deal, but they exceeded my expectations today.
