Eddie, seriously, I want to have a conversation with you.

It's like you're not even trying.

I'm not going to hold your hand. I've already gone far enough on more than one count.

    I know it doesn't work.

Well, I'm glad my posting has compelled you to come out of the shadows and into the light.

The people's movement in the Philippines worked because the country is much smaller than the U.S. Also, the movement had the support of major super powers, including Reagan and the U.S.

Are you pissed at me because I just won a point off you?

I'm not pissed off at anything, just a little annoyed that you either can't read, have selective memory, or are intentionally weaseling your way through your arguments.

Do you deny that civil disobedience occurred at the Berlin Wall leading up to its fall? If so, why? (I should be asking how, really.)

It's not difficult. Don't disappoint me.

[EDIT: As a side note, I'm picturing a giant 52' Reagan marching upon Germany with iron-like fists the size of wrecking balls, smashing down the Berlin Wall—all the while firing laser beams at any damn commie who dare try to intervene. What's more, a giant Bonzo is somewhere in the distance screeching at the top of his lungs and beating his armour-plated chest, striking fear in the heart of Germans everywhere—for they know: there is no more monkeying* around.]

Reagan as the best president of the past 100 years? Now I know this is a troll account. Not even Ace of samcol are THIS much of a GOP talking-point machine

Apparently someone's lying to you. You're apparently completely unfamiliar with me. That's fine. But you're just succeeding in making yourself look kind of foolish at thist point. All this talk of "points" and "scores" is really just going to make folks take you less seriously. And if you want to actually debate the issues rather than score points, you're going about it all wrong.

Oh, and poor choices on expendature in the 60's and 70's had a lot more to do with toppling the Soviets in the late 80's than Reagan did. Brezhnev did more to harm the Soviet cause than Reagan ever did.

If anyone had "kept score" on the old TFP they would have received the ban hammer. You guys are being pretty lenient with Eddie here

  15. Eddie Getting Tilted

Well, I find liberals hilarious. I look at them and listen to the things they say and just laugh my ass off.

I didn't know this until after I graduated from college. It came up in a debate and I did a search and some studying and realized that Reagan did not, in fact, single-handedly win the Cold War and cause the collapse of the Soviet Union. I don't think this important historical information has enough exposure.

OWS has been going for over a month now and not only does it show no signs of stopping, but it's continuing to spread. Israel and Lebanon are seeing Occupy protests form, South Africa has several, New Zealand, India, China, South Korea, Brazil, Argentina, and several other countries have joined the United States in its speaking out against concentrated, politically powerful wealth. Last I checked in, 2,102 cities are being occupied.

The nice thing is the "there's no coherent message" people are finally quieting down. While Fox News and conservative media outlets are desperately trying to paint OWS as anti-Semetic or something, most mainstream outlets have been forced to show a bit of respect for the movement as it's lasted longer and continued to not only grow, but poll extremely well.

    And Eddie, stop trolling. Jesus.

  17. Eddie Getting Tilted

Because there's nothing left to talk about. We saw what ows had to offer, they had their 5 minutes of fame...now it's on to the World Series and the X Factor finale. We got Thanksgiving coming up, then Christmas, New Years, not to mention the presidential race. Ows is barely newsworthy at this point.

The OWS movement is actually polling marginally better than the Tea Party movement, which over time has seen its support drop significantly.

  19. Eddie Getting Tilted

Yeah, but the Tea Party has much more influence and power to effect real change in this country. That's the benefit of having foresight, leadership and strategy.
