now that you are homebound

I really wish I was still at home. Numbers are getting scary. We get daily updates from the hospital system I work for, and their “new inpatient COVID cases” jumped from 4-7 per day to double digits every day for the last week. We have a mask mandate and people are just ignoring and defying it to be assholes. A guy (with about a 6 year old kid with him) told the elderly greeter atMeijer who asked him to put on a mask “you can call the fucking cops on me” and I saw MORE people without a mask the day the mandate went into effect than I normally have at that store. Ugh.

My company is considering voluntary 5 month severance packages for people to reduce the workforce rather than extend furloughs or process layoffs. I’m sure I’d be rejected because I’m already back to work and a high performer, but I honestly want to put my name in the hat to be able to retreat from this insanity and distance again. My stress level (and subsequent pain and anxiety levels) are through the roof.
