Anyway, back to bra talk. I kinda like the look of Aerie bras, but it's atrocious how badly their bras fit their models. It's especially obvious without retouching. And their size calculator is all kinds of fucked up. According to their fit calculation, I'm a 36D. If you've seen photos of me, that is OBVIOUSLY not the case.. I'm actually a 30D or 32C depending on how much water I'm retaining.

Looks almost exactly like my wife did at 8.5 months pregnant. Fertility statue. What makes you think it means "hot"?

I'm guessing you never took an anthropology course, huh?

I'm guessing you are wrong. You see, fertility and pregnancy were magical and important events. Or do you think that overly obese supersized women were the neolithic super models?

    Edit addition...

I almost commented when that pic was posted: "She is PERFECT. Except for that toe. :p "

But I didn't want to get in the way of a good street fight. :D

Thanks for pointing that out @Borla. Until you mentioned it, I hadn't realized that she had feet. :D

They are comfy as fuck. Seriously. Also, when you get the correct size, they shape damn well.

Example: Last time @damnitall visited, I nicely suggested we go bra shopping, since her bras probably last looked brand new during the Clinton administration (<3). To say she looks fantastic in them in a major understatement.

I'm super picky about my bras. We don't have Aerie here, and I occasionally buy a VS bra, but I prefer to purchase Wacoal. They seem to keep their shaping the longest, and they do have larger sizes, meaning it's not impossible to find a 36DD that looks cute, is comfortable, and supportive. Fortunately, there's a locally owned and operated lingerie shop that carries a lot of Wacoal, and the Nordstrom in the nearest big city always has a few on the sale rack.

I'm all for using undoctored photos of real women to advertise everything, not just bras. I sympathise with women trying to find bras that fit right. My wife has a hard time finding bras that fit comfortably all day, when she gets home the first she does is lose the bra. Some cups are too far apart, some too close together, etc. At least she is realistic about not squeezing into too small of a bra.

I'm convinced that advertisers use images that appeal to our, female & male, sense of what we want to look like, not what we actually look like. My build might appear to be average, but it isn't. I have thick legs and square shoulders (most mens dress shirts, sport coats, suit coats, etc. are designed for sloping shoulders), which were a problem when I was in shape. My wife has her father's body type, broad shoulders & hips, and thick legs. Even in top shape (marching band in college) her weight would've been considered too high by most of the height & weight calculators that I've seen.

It's my understanding, from a person who is in the lingerie business and other sources, Wacoal makes some? most? of the Victorias Secret bras.

EDIT--My mother still complains about bras going to the natural shape, she liked the old bullet bras. I can't imagine why.

They may be made in the same factories overseas, but the quality is very different. VS shoulder straps stretch out over time. Wacoal straps do not.

I've actually never had a problem with any of my VS straps! Maybe the styles we get are different.
