The 'girls HAD the game won. I'm not sure why they faltered in the 2nd half, I say put the blame on their defense.

I don't much care what happens with the Steelers unless it affects the Texans PO chances (rolleyes). But I do recall BR having some non-NFL legal troubles that strongly suggested he isn't a nice guy re women.

Edit--Something went wrong the  emoticon. I see that the 49ers got stomped.

The Packers-Chiefs game went well for me in fantasy football, and the Seahawks stomped the Bears. I have no complaints.

Also, I got cable television back. w00t w00t.

I haven't had pay TV in decades, literally 40 years. I do occasionally catch the NFL analysis shows, usually when waiting at the automobile dealership while one of our vehicles gets serviced. I'm amazed at how long they can talk about football games.

Part of me knows that Vick manned-up and took the punishment that the justice system deemed suitable.

The part of me that loves dogs--all animals really--is repulsed by what he did to train the fighting dogs. I won't go into details, the info is out there for anyone to find.

I can't manage to separate what he did from his NFL career.

We cut the cord for three months, but the ability to get television via antenna here is limited, so I was missing Seahawks games. Never again! We locked in a solid deal with Comcast and get 240+ channels in HD. I don't care so much about the regular television so much as the sports. Basketball starts soon, and we watch all the Blazers games we can.

The Texans really suck today. Apparently they just turned the ball over again as I started this post.

Where is the bad-ass defense that's supposed to keep the Texans at least competitive?

OB, your team is moving backwards; 9-7 might be a dream this year.

What a suitable ending to the Texans-Falcons game! JIC you don't know: The Texans fumbled with no time on the clock, which the Falcons recovered and ran back for a TD. At least they did a kneel-down on the PAT. Glanville--does anybody remember that redneck clown?--would've went for two.

I do not want OB to start waffling, yet again, on who is the starting QB. Yes, Mallet was off, way off. Yes, Hoyer came in and provided a spark. And we saw the same thing in reverse in game one. Give one of them the next four games to sink or swim.

    ------------------------

The Saints finally managed to beat the cowgirls in OT (in the NFL a 30 yard FG should be a chip shot, right?). They certainly picked a good time to win their first game of the season. The Eagles again disappointed, but at least the Giants won.

    -------------------------

    Good--The Cougars won.
The longhorns lost (the rich white alumni aren't going to keep Strong around much longer).
    Bad--The aggies won.

fflowley Don't just do something, stand there!

I went to the Bills game yesterday.
They were terrible. Completely undisciplined; looked like amateurs.
Then this morning I read that Rex Ryan says he's proud of how his players played yesterday.
    Sickening.
If I owned the team I'd be having a rather unpleasant talk with Rex in my office this morning about professionalism and class.

If I owned the Texans I would've had an extremely unpleasant a talk with O'Brien (Why is the team going backwards?) and Crennel (Why is the defense playing like shit?).....last night.

So far the Bengals appear to be as good as their record indicates.

Given the cost of tickets to NFL games, I sometimes feel sorry for the folks who get stuck sitting behind the people who wear the ridiculously large headgear to games. I'd probably say something to them if their outfit blocked my view of the game.

What about those of us whose heads are too large to wear anything BUT ridiculously large headgear? :p
