It wouldn't shock me. They seem to be getting tired of him in SF. There have been rumors of a trade (ala Gruden, who was traded from Oakland to Tampa for draft picks), as he's under contract one more year IIRC.

yes amazing how you can trade a coach. lol

  4. In 1948, baseball broadcaster Ernie Harwell was traded for a catcher. If you're under contract and someone perceives value, anyone can be traded, it seems.

There are a lot of folks around Michigan who think Harbaugh should bail on the pros and come coach the Wolverines. I'm not totally sold on the idea, but his Stanford record was pretty impressive.

I herd that harbaugh was saying no to michigan

  6. I wouldn't blame him. The program is a mess. But there is a lot of wishful thinking going on 'round here. Sports talk radio is driving the conversation.

I had my doubts there for a while. I don't think they are as good as last year, but they are still gong to be tough to beat if they get to play in Seattle.

Isn't Dan Snyder #2 behind jackass jerry as the worst GM in the NFL? Snyder might deserve to be #1, but I give that honor to jackass jerry since I hate all things dallas cowgirls.

I wouldn't call the Seahawks the most dangerous team in the league, not unless they close the regular season playing much better than they did through the first 12 games. And since they beat the Eagles, the team I'm relying on to keep the cowgirls out of the playoffs: Fuck the Seahawks :D, I hope they get knocked out of the playoffs in the first PO game they play :p.

How about those Browns? Not many teams can do so many stupid things to help the other team.

Why did the officials decide to start getting nitpicky on defensive holding & pass interference after 12 games of only-if-you-tackle-the-receiver?

Edit--The Texans have the same record as the 49ers. And a better record than the Saints. After being 2-14 last year.

I hope that Andre johnson is OK.

Yeah, Snyder is a piece of work. He's one of my least favorite sports owners.

    Saw this today:

Did Browns not start Johnny Manziel over him going to Cavs game? | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo Sports

If it is true, is that fair?

I guess I'd need more detail to decide. If he put in a 10 hour day studying the game plan or film, then chilled for a few hours at the game, without partying all night, I'd say he was fine. If (as I suspect) he's been under prepared, wasn't at the facility that day (or not there much), and the team has repeatedly talked to him about having the image that he's taking this job seriously, then yeah, I see their call.

IF the story has any merit in the first place.

Packers are off and running tonight. The weather is certainly in Green Bay's favor.

As you point out, there's probably something else going on behind the scenes. I don't like little johnny , he needs to suffer some serious humiliation to help him pry his head from his ass. Or it might break him if he can't handle being what he is (a rookie with only two years of playing college ball) and not being what he thinks he is (a gift to the NFL!*). But on the surface that story makes Pettine look petty (ugh).

    * Hopefully a gift to the opposing defenses ;).

Once again my ignorance shows--I've always thought that Redskins owner Snyder was also the GM. Does this mean that he's less stupid and/or less egotistical than jackass jerry?

I know a couple of serious longtime Redskins fans who follow football very closesly. One of them should get a shot as a GM in the NFL, he lives for football, college & pro (I don't know how he stays married). Neither has anything good to say about Snyder.

manziel just gets on my nerves, his money antics when he scored a td the other week just set me off wrong, he has no experience and seems to always be in the media for some kind of partying, not so much lately. i get the impression that he feels like he deserves to be there. personally he hasnt paid his dues yet. thats just mo

Definitely a hot topic at work today. My students and I did a double take at his truck, as it would not be out of place in the school parking lot.

That could be very bad news for Clowney, it'd be a shame for his career to end before it every got started.
Unfortunately for Clowney his reputation for slacking is better known than the nature and extent of his injury/injuries.

During a press conference last week OB wouldn't give any details about exactly what surgery Clowney was going to have or when he was going to have it. It was clear that he knew more than he was saying. That raised a few eyebrows among those familiar with how NFL teams like to dance around certain issues.

I only just watched that...they did a great job!! I really liked the altered Redskins logo with the Indi--oops, Native American--covering his eyes. It reminds me a parody song done by a local radio duo, Dean & Rog. When Tony Romo screwed up the field goal snap in 2007 which ended the 'girls playoff hopes, they made a song about it sang to the tune of Desperado. Unfortunately I'm have not been able to find a recording it on the internet, not even just after it was played on the Dean & Rog Show. Apparantly a vid was on YouTube, but it got pulled.

I sincerely hope that RGIII is able to snap out of whatever he is going through. I don't know follow him or the Redskins. Maybe he was excessively arrogant (most highly touted athletes, which RGIII certainly was, are arrogant to a certain extent) and needs to learn some humility.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

I was looking at some of the playoffs possibilities, and I'm more than a little confused. It appears that if the 'girls lose to the Eagles and to the Colts, their playoffs chances are pretty much nil. If (IF) that's correct, I really hope that by that time a Colts win/loss against the 'girls won't affect what slim (SLIM) chance the Texans have of making the playoffs. Having to route for the cowgirls might kill me.
