If it's true - IF - he might get lucky since the statute of limitations ran out about 3 years ago. But if the prosecutors announce that's the reason he's not going to be charged, expect the NFL to fire him into the stratosophere. He'll either achieve Earth orbit and never be seen again or he'll crater.

If anyone is at all surprised by this, you don't know much about Louisiana politics. I saw this and said to myself "of course they did that. I'm surprised they aren't still doing it."

I think RG3 will have the better first year or two. The Redskins just have more talent overall. But I think 3-5 years from now the Colts will be glad they took Luck.

Somewhat lost amongst the draft coverage was word that the NFL is likely to drop the Pro Bowl out of existence, maybe starting this year. I say good riddance. Football is not a sport that is entertaining at half speed with half hearted line play and half hearted tackling. Do an amped up skills competition or something instead, similar to what the NBA does the night before the All-Star game, and call it a day.

Holy cow, the player suspensions are out for the Saints bounty scandal. Jonathan Vilma out for a year! Also, defensive tackle Anthony Hargrove (now with the Green Bay Packers) was suspended eight games, defensive Will Smith four games and linebacker Scott Fujita (now with the Cleveland Browns) three games.

    Even harsher than I expected.

Wow, that's huge! That's going to decimate at least 2 lines. I heard this from some Packers fans that are all pissed off. Which is glorious in and of itself.

As a Packers fan myself, I'm not all that upset. I'm glad the league is coming down hard on this now to set a precedent for the future.

Besides, the Packers score 40 points a game. Defense is a luxury we can be a little light on the first half of the season.

You're a popping piece of gristle away from averaging 6 points a game.

from TMZ. He's a local hero here in Oceanside, where he went to high school and also starred for the Chargers for several years. :(

NFL legend Junior Seau was found dead in his home in Oceanside, CA ... and a law enforcement source at the scene tells us cops believe he shot himself.

Seau was 43-years-old ... and leaves behind 3 kids and an ex-wife.

Cops are currently at Seau's home -- located in San Diego County -- and were seen talking with a man who was inside the house and appeared distraught.

Seau was a beast in the NFL -- skyrocketing to fame thanks to his explosive play with the San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots. The USC standout was selected in the first round of the NFL draft in 1990 and played in the league for 20 years.

Seau was involved in a car accident back in 2010 when he drove his SUV off a cliff in Carlsbad, CA hours after he was arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend. Seau later said he was not trying to kill himself ... insisting he had fallen asleep at the wheel.

I'd say "thanks" guys, but that doesn't seem appropriate. It's sad - more for his kids than anything else.

Yeah, sad stuff. I didn't remember having the previous issues.

    Heck of a player.

Scroll up to my post #112 to see the opposite side of that coin. The news from the NFL isn't all bad today.

And maybe Junior got questioned on another bounty program that hasn't come out yet.
