Wow, how about that Seattle Seahawks offense?!? I expected them to win, but not to that extreme.

Who gets the "Comeback Player of the Year" award?

I say Manning. He missed all of last year and is having a crazy good season.

I've heard some arguments for AP. What he's doing is freakish coming off his knee injury. But I give it to Manning because AP still played 12 games last year, had about 1000 yards, and had 12 TDs. Manning didn't even play a game.

I agree with you about Peyton Manning taking this one, unless maybe AP would end up getting the rushing yard record by the end of the season.
I would like to throw a shout out to Carolina linebacker Thomas Davis on this subject, one of, if not the first player to comeback from 3 ACL tears and playing like a stud at that.

In other NFL news today, apparently RGIII isn't black enough.
I found this kind of disgusting. Then I looked up some of the other stuff Rob Parker has said and figured he is just doing it for attention. Still, it is classless. I think I'd be even more offended if I was black. Exactly why I literally never, ever watch "First Take".
He has dreadlocks, so that makes him "a brother". But he's engaged to a white girl and is a Republican, so he's not "down with the cause."
How about the fact that he's a supremely talented athlete that also comes across as intelligent, well-spoken, never has gotten in any real trouble, and by all reports is a polite and kind person? How about just praise him and be proud of him for what he's done so far?

    Rob Parker is an idiot.

I think I'd be happiest if Denver won a SB over just about any other team. My Bucs are going to be on the outside looking in, so I'll have to figure out who I'll root for beyond that. I usually root for the Bears, though I don't have much faith in them. SF would be fun to watch win. I'm not a big Atlanta fan. I like Houston but I don't trust they will deliver if they have to go back to Foxboro, or if they had to go to Denver. There are lots of things to get figured out by the end of this week that should clear up who the real contenders are going to be. If Big Ben gets healthy, Pittsburgh could get right back in there.

Basically can't wait for the next few weeks to play out so we can start fighting over the playoffs. :p

My Ravens are making it an interesting end of the season. While I commend the team for cutting ties with Cameron the timing seems a bit strange. Hopefully Caldwell can step up and the offense gets its groove back.

As long as it's not the Steelers or Patriots from the AFC I'll be happy with whoever makes the SB. On the NFC side I would find it amusing if the Seahawks and their referee "team mates" make it.

I think my ultimate pick would be Denver/NYG SB. :D

I don't see how AP could be considered for comeback player of the year. Didn't he only miss one game? Peyton wins this one.

My 'phins are gonna go 7-0 in the last 3 games to pull out the AFC east. sigh

The Ravens can't be faulted much for not running away with the division. Multiple injuries from week 1 on the defense to high caliber players to lackluster play calling by Cameron is a recipe for collapse. I think they'll take the final spot, but you just can't tell.

Packers are looking good at the right time...

    fuck brady.

Borla I think if it ended up a Den/NY SB, riots in NY would ensue after little Manning was shown to be so inferior to big brother.

AP played 12 games last year, so he missed 4. But I agree that that's enough to knock him behind Manning in the "Comeback" award.

My question would be, in that proposed SB match-up how many shots would we get of Archie with commentary trying to figure out who to root for.

I actually like the Mannings quite a bit. Though they obviously had advantages growing up, they seem to have learned the proper lessons. The way they conduct themselves with the media, coaches, and teammates is usually very good. Sure Peyton may yell at a lineman for missing an assignment, but you don't hear him calling out players in the media often, or ripping coaches, or hear Eli say anything more boneheaded than "yes, I am an elite QB" right before leading his team to a SB victory. Even Archie, who is on sports radio fairly often, is almost always gracious to everyone he talks about.

While I love a guy like Charles Barkley, who will stick his foot in his mouth because he believes in what he is saying, there is also something about someone who is in the spotlight (or in this case, a family who is) and who almost never messes it up. And for the most part they do it while still offering slightly insightful and honest opinions, and without seeming to hate the fact that their wonderfully privileged careers force them to do that part of the job.

I try not to idolize particular athletes, especially when extending it to beyond what they do on the field, court, rink, pitch, whatever. But I admire what the Mannings seem to stand for.

I don't have a problem with the Mannings.

I was just sayin' we'll see too many shots of Archie and "I know it's tough for him watching this." "I wonder who he really wants to win" etc etc.

Yes. That has to be an incredible horrific thought process.

"Both of my sons are incredibly rich and famous. Both of my sons are Super Bowl Champions and MVPs. Both of my sons have a good chance of winning another Super Bowl. How do I decide who to be happy for?!?" :p

Even Archie knows it's a travesty that Eli has more rings than Peyton.

The scary thing is that they say Cooper was the best athlete as a youngster. If it hadn't been for his spinal issues, we might really have a Manning dilemna on our hands.
