Of course the Vice Principal is usually wearing pants though or at least has a pair fairly close (as in a 2-3 block radius).

There's always something magical in the air when the Packers put the hurt on the Bears... Merry Christmas! Aaron Rodgers with 5 TD, 0 INT. I love it.

Yes the Pack pounded them... but their QB was couching HS football a few weeks ago and the Bears exposed what KC did- the Pack can't stop a decent run offense. If the Packers meet a team with a decent run game and pass defense they're toast. Looking at possible opponents I don't see anyone that can muster both but you can bet every team out there is working to put together that combo.

  8. I expected worse. A loss is still a loss but at least this wasn't a complete public depantsing. McCown showed to be superior in every way over Hanie. Had the Bears organization recognized that earlier their playoff hopes might still be alive. Lots of question to be answered at Halas Hall.

The 49ers have a good run game and a very good defense.

I'm not convinced that they could shut Rodgers down enough to stay in the game, but we may get to see.

I'm a 9'ers fan from a 9'ers household. Watching the the 49'ers was one of the few things I could enjoy with my dad stress free. So I'd like nothing more then to see them take out the Packers (or anyone else for that matter) would thrill me. But while SF has a good run defense and a good run offense. On pass defense they're ranked 18th on pass offense they're 28th . Given that any match up between to the two would be in GB I don't see that working out well in SF's favor. They can spend 8 mins running the ball down and scoring all day, won't matter if it takes the Packers less then 90 sec to throw the ball down field and score.

So yeah I'm not convinced either but looking at the way things are lining up I'm beginning to be convinced we're going to find out.

Even if they don't make the playoffs, my CINCINNATI BENGALS still surprised. Considering they lost Johnson AND Palmer (no big loss in either of them) and were expected to be worse than the Clowns, They played damned well and Coach Lewis showed he truly can coach.

Now, if Mike Brown can just not be so frugal and get through his bad rep the Bengals should compete next year for the AFC North Division title. I think Pitt and Baltimore are aging and don't have many good years left in them.

    OVERALL GREAT SEASON CINCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Wish I could edit my post. The QB for the Bears is Josh McCown, not McNown as in Cade.

We knew what you meant. I edited for you now that you've stated you wish it could be done. Anytime you want something edited just let a Mod or Admin. know, it's a simply fix.

  14. YAY!!!! (FYI period punctuation button isn't working for some reason)

If the Bengals make it into the playoffs and do well, I might post in Tilted Exhibition

I had a nightmare in week six that the Packers lost to San Francisco (badly) in the NFC Championship game. It haunts me to this day. Mainly because it's entirely possible. Hell, if the Saints or Falcons get hot both those teams can beat the Packers too (and almost did!) Really, I'm under no illusions the Pack are a lock for the Super Bowl this year, I'm just enjoying the ride while it lasts. I already got to see them win last year, so everything this season has been gravy.

The Bears have pretty much officially shifted into "rebuilding mode". Which is kind of sad, but they just got snakebit with injuries and didn't have the depth they needed.

It should be interesting to see who the new offensive coordinator is going to be next year. I'm hearing Martz is out. They also need to find some younger defensive talent since most of their defensive production is 32+. That's old for a linebacker or D-lineman.

  17. As long with rebuilding starts with Angelo, I'm fine with whatever else follows.

When Grossman went down in pre-season a few seasons ago his backup was rookie Kyle Orton. Nothing against Orton but not having any experience as backup to the QB is inexcusable. So this isn't a new situation for the Bears. The Bears have several positions where they are very thin. Lots of new names next year.

The Bears suffered from far too many injuries. I don't think they had the injuries problems the Texans had but they either didn't or couldn't come up with a workable solution. I think McCown did a pretty damn fine job against the Packers but I don't see him being the future, more of a stop gap.

If Martz is gone, McCown is gone. I think the Bears need a veteran on the downside of his career, and one that's friendly on a personal level with Cutler. If they can find someone with some raport, they'll take any competitive pressure out of the mix. They have a good solution at running back, but we'll see if Forte is back or not. The Bears have a long history of getting the most possible out of their running backs while they're cheap, then letting them go sign somewhere else. That's what got Forte the ball in the first place since they did exactly that with Thomas Jones.

The problem with the NFL is the one game playoff system. if a team is hot, they could have been a wild card with the worst record in the playoffs but as they say "any given Sunday" and that team gets hot and the others are beat up tired and lose.

The Packers did it last year. Hopefully the Bengals can do it. They just have to beat Baltimore and their in.

The Bengals have done that also with their RBs.
