Been watching the Cowboy - Seahawks game.
So far, it's 23-6 in Dallas' favor., 4th quarter with over 11 minutes to go.

What is going on with the Pats? They have been horrible for the past 3 games.

    Rough day in Bills nation.
Have to hand it to the Jets defense.
    They absolutely smothered the Bills.

Great...3 way tie between Pats, Bills and Jets with the Pats at NY next week.
Could this be Belichick/Brady's first 3 game losing streak?

Even though the Packers won, I'm a little worried that our crap pass D will come back and bite us hard in the playoffs.

  8. Eddie Getting Tilted

Uh, Rivers is a badass and he's got some major weapons to throw to, so don't be too worried.

Well these don't yet include the most recent game, but going into today we had the 31st ranked pass defence in the league...

All the afternoon games were great to watch. My god the Bills sucked. I was thinking we'd have a good competitive game there.

I won't say that the Bills did anything but suck but I am really impressed with how dominating the Jets D played.
I think they made the Bills suck.

  13. da Bears! That was a great game. Eagles are a tough team, to beat them in their house isn't easy. Bears D sure did not look old tonight. Urlacher, Briggs and Peppers were exceptional. And Cutler really looked great.

  14. Eddie Getting Tilted

Aw hell yeah. Peppers was going hard all night. But I have to say, Vick looked horrible tonight. In fact, the entire offense(other than Mckoy) looked off. Maybe it was just that the Bears D was throwing a wrench into every play, I dunno. But damn, Cutler was a play maker tonight. When he has protection, I don't think there's anyone better.

I, just... I don't know what to say. And you're a Denver fan, right? A Denver fan thinks that about Cutler?

I don't know - Vick looked ok. Other than that ball he threw behind the receiver on 4th and 1, he was mostly on target. The problem seemed to be more with protection. He got hit a LOT. The Bears linebackers looked great, but Forte fumbling TWICE was kind of crazy.

For as average as his numbers looked, Cutler had a great game. He managed things well and kept mistakes to a minimum. And he LED. That's big on that team.

Here's the thing about Cutler, he's too risky. Last night was an exception but I don't think it was because he had protection. I think it's because he felt comfortable in this game. When he's down and big plays need to be made, he's going to try and squeeze a watermelon through a lemon. Chicago is one of those teams that has enough talent, they just don't have the concentration.

I agree with that. The Bears' protection was adequate - not great but not problematic. It allowed Cutler to make plays and see the open man. Personally I think that one of the biggest components of Cutler's talent is recognizing defenses and changing things up to compensate - that happened a few times last night. Clearly P. Manning is the acknowledged master of that, but Culter's slowly developing that skill in Martz's offense.

My comment about protection before, though, was more about Philly's than Chicago's. Philly's got an O-line problem at the moment.

  19. Keep in mind Cutler is not allowed to audible at the line unlike other QBs. When Kurt Warner played for Martz at St. Louis he couldn't audible, either.

the_jazz - yeah, I got that. My comment about protection was more towards that delusional Broncos fan and the crazy comment about protection and nobody better.. w.t.f.

Craven Morehead I'm not so sure that if I had Cutler as my QB I'd want him to audible either. He's just too risky..he's so risky that he makes Favre look conservative. ;)
