Well, one for 2013: I'm signing up for the Iron Warrior Dash.

I also want to do strict paleo (other than coffee creamer/beer/alcohol) while I'm on my clinical in Utah. Maybe two "cheat" meals a week. I think I can manage that.

    • Writing and reading: I'm going to be more systematic with these activities.
    • Muay Thai training and conditioning kickboxing two days per week each.
    • Maintaining a nutritious diet to support my training.
    • Keeping off the coffee; sticking with green and oolong tea.
    • Getting out more; I'm too much of a hermit.

I stayed on target, a little more to go.

Now 2013 is already scary to me. Not sure what is next and no resolutions.

I don't ever make resolutions... just life changes when needed.
But I swear by all that anyone holds holy, I will make my marriage and myself survive this next year.
And half of next year. Fucking school.

I too don't make resolutions but I am looking forward to this year as a new start in my career. I have also signed on for an Aquathlon, Duathlon and a Triathlon series running in February, March and April.

This year, and for years to come, I want to learn to love myself for who I am. I want to become a more honest communicator. I want to feel confident in my own skin and project confidence to those around me. Given where I'm coming from, I think these things will keep me sufficiently occupied for a while.

  7. I resolve to do the following: Drink more. Smoke more. Eat more. Exercise less. Have unprotected sex with lots and lots of strangers.

If I don't keep these resolutions, it's not so bad.....

Resolutions are fun and I love metrics. I'm thinking of something that I can do that has measurable outcomes. I don't tend to have goals of "being true to myself" as I don't know how to quantitatively measure that. I'm thinking a "walk more/drive less" resolution will be very beneficial and measurable. It will have the added benefits of exercise and saving money. All good things.

This can be measured thanks to my odometer. I can measure weekly or monthly the amount of miles I put on my car. I can also track how much money I spend on gas per month taking into account any fluctuation of prices.

Mostly I just resolve to be more awesome.

I seriously don't remember what my resolutions were last year...I went through old TFP posts, faceyspace, and el-jay to see if I'd blogged/posted about them...nope. No clue. I vaguely remember saying something along the lines of, "this year, we're not going to die!" along with Eden, our roommate, and our roommate's girlfriend-at-the-time. This was around four in the morning on January 1st, though, so details are a little fuzzy.

    This year, I'm going to:
    • run at least two 5k races
    • continue working out five days a week
    • attend the ABC party at Dragon*Con
    • start sending personal snail-mail on a regular basis (I actually bought some stationary a couple weeks ago, and I'm really excited about this one.)
    • do at least one outdoorsy-thing every weekend this summer, whether it be biking, hiking, camping, skiing...whatever.

To build and maintain an attitude that when bad shit happens To me, that need not paralyse me from making happen the good shit that I can do for myself.

Maintain the Health-weight ratio I achieved this year.

Learn enough of the Writers' Craft to approach NaNowriMo 2013 without feeling like a total imposter.

Get an i-pad, kindle fire or netbook, and sit in coffee bars ignoring strangers rather than sitting unsociably here at my desktop computer.

I have oolong tea. Also a Wii U. And a space that's actually conducive to entertaining.

    Plus guitars and stuff.

    Just sayin'.
