And then the dude takes these shots that AREN'T EVEN FUCKING SHOTS, but because there was a vague motion that HE MIGHT MAKE A SHOT, the refs send him to the line. WTF.

The best part of last night's game was Robin Lopez sitting in with Mike and Mike (our totally homer broadcast team that everyone loves because of the things that come out of Mike Rice's mouth) during the second quarter. I think he has a future in broadcasting. I turned to my husband and said, "It's obvious how much he reads. He has a very diverse vocabulary." I hope he gets to sit in again while he's out with his broken hand.

Wah wah wah, wah, wah wah wah wah :D.

I hope that you bought some cheese to go with that whine :p.

    Is Harden guilty? Yes.
Is it just Harden? Oh please. Absolutely not.
When was the last the NBA refs strictly enforced the traveling rule? A very long time ago.

Whine, & now sour grapes. How much did you bet on the Blazers to win :p?

The sour grapes are due to the fact that Dwight was wearing this black shirt that did nothing for his glorious arms, and nothing to do with a Blazer loss.

I remember when players might get away with an extra step, but only if they did it to propel themselves up & toward the basket to take a shot, usually a dunk, in a crowd. IIRC we used to refer to the move as "skying." Otherwise an extra step would get a call just about everytime. A player's status had a lot to do with the calls on a "regular" player or non-calls on "star" players. I'm sure that some long time BB fans here can list the favored players.

Wow. That ended on a dramatic note. Somehow, the Blazers yanked it out. Fouls definitely played a role, and the Blazers clinched some critical threes to get us to OT.

This game belongs to Damian Lillard. He was amazing. He is amazing. I've long been a fan of point guards (Gary "The Glove" Payton is my favorite player of all time).

I'm just bummed my pick to click was Wes Matthews, and it should have been Lillard.

I can hear the recruiters already sharpening their pencils to make sure they are ready....That and the youtube comments asking why he can't dunk yet.

Holy shit, the game against the Blazers and Raptors last night was ridiculous. That game was about 10 minutes longer than it needed to be due to the officiating. They reviewed tons of calls, and the replay reviews took forever. Ultimately, though, I think having this system in place is a good thing, especially with some of the major calls, or trickier calls.

There was one moment where they showed the replay center on television, and one guy was sitting in front of a monitor with Robin Lopez on it. My husband was all, "WTF, why just a shot of RoLo; he's injured and in a suit. He's not going to do anything." My reply: "You mean he's not going to do anything but look good. Can't blame the man." ;)

I wasn't able to watch it, but the Raptor fans were bitching about how the refs gave the game to Portland in the comment section I was reading. I strongly suspect there was missed/mangled calls on both sides and the Raptors just didn't have enough for the win.

Mike and Mike were scratching their heads at the end of the game, wondering how Portland had managed to squeak it out. It was not our best performance, by far.

Gotta say, though, Joel Freeland is a BEAST. He's shown up recently with some big performances and clutch moments for the Blazers, especially on defense. I feel like it made up for some lackluster performances on the offensive end last night.

They still managed to finish 12-36 from the 3 point line for the game after an anemic 2-17 in the first half.

Lebron is out for two weeks due to knee and back issues.

Cavs are going to have a rough time without him.

I found this article interesting and surprising. His reputation is so far the opposite direction that he'll need to keep this up for a while to change perceptions. But it just goes to show you how much good defense is due to effort and work.

Nice win last night against a very good Houston team. Six straight wins against the Western conference, and I think 13-2 over the last 15 games.

The Rockets have been struggling recently. I don't know why McHale decided to alter the lineup, but he needs to find the combinations to get them back on track.

I have two words for you.

    Josh Smith.

Go look at Detroit's record before and after cutting him. They were something like 5-23 so far in the season. They cut Josh Harris. They then win the next six straight, and still haven't lost. Not from adding anyone, just from cutting a guy.

The same guy the Rockets then picked up.
