  1. I have not decapitated (nor do I have any plans to decapitate) anyone this week.

That said, the week is young.

Finally did some Spring cleaning. :)

Helps that it is actually acting like Spring (w/o rain)

I just recently wrote a piece for my company's blog and Twitter account.

Marketing tells me that it has received more retweets than any previous posts.

Most of the miscellaneous stuff lurking in the garage has been sorted. I have decided to completely redo how I pack books. All of my trashy paperbacks are in one set of tubs. All of the trade-size paperbacks I will never teach are in another set of tubs. My content and pedagogy books are sorted out by subject. I'll sort further when it comes time to pack up the books we aren't storing. I don't know whether to store our massive philosophy collection or not.

I sorted through four tubs of stuff my mother had labeled "decor." Some of it was decor. Most of it wasn't. There were a whole bunch of stuffed animals, including my childhood teddy bear, who has been rescued from his plastic prison and wrapped up safely with my baby blanket. Either way, I threw away a lot of old crap, and now there's only about half a box of stuff left!

Part of my strategy was to only make and drink tea on the weekend. I love me some tea

    Waa-Hoo!
I actually got my previous insurance company to pay all the friggin' bills it was supposed to pay for.

These appointments were all the way from November.
And the damn company claimed all of them "pre-existing" (which isn't even legal anymore...)

I've been fighting them for 4 months.

First they sent out notices, saying that I had 30 days to prove it not pre-existing. (received them 2 weeks before "dead-line")
Second, they claim they asked for questionaire for me to be filled out...which the never sent to me.
Third, when provider billing contacted them, they gave them bad contact info to send them anything. (it's required in writing, but no fax number...)
Fourth, they wanted all the docs to have written confirmation that these events weren't pre-existing.
    and....

It was like that satirical scene in "The Incredibles" where the old lady was getting hints on the maze, then mgmt got angry she was getting thru the maze.

    But I'm winning.
No wonder I'm bald...I've torn it all out by now.

I should definitely be sleeping right now, but I just wrote a poem, the first in a year (and the second in seven years).

    Yay!

64 mph in a 30 zone. In a residential zone. Don't complain to me that with your prior history the court is going to take your license. Slow down instead.

  14. I'm still going. I haven't quit yet.

Web programming like a boss today. Graduation is within my grasp.

Also, holy cow, YQL is awesome. Might have to do some fun things with it eventually.

Got another dui just now. Two in a week is pretty good by any measure.

Been on a project that had been stalled for over 2 years by our former psycho VP. Her main excuse was that the FDA wouldn't engage her.

VP gets shoved out and my team sets up meetings with the FDA in 6 freakin weeks!

Two of them. In one day!

I had to force myself to go to the gym today. Told myself that I could leave after 20 minutes if I still wasn't feeling it. Did not just one, but two couch to 5K sessions. Did both sessions at double my usual incline, and for the second session, kicked the running portion up 1.5 mph, then did sprints for the last 4 running segments at 3 mph over my usual at triple my regular incline. Instead of feeling like death, I feel like I could do another one. But I should probably still be alive for work tonight.

This sort of reminds me of when I have a real good day doing yard work, those times when I'm amazed at how hard I can push myself. But then reality hits--it takes me two days to recover.

I actually don't feel too bad today! And I'm pretty anxious to go back. I don't know who I am anymore. Full on existential crisis.

That's just a part of growing up, GS. It should begin to clear up in about 40-50 years.
