My violet-colored manicure lasted a week with minimal tip wear and chipping. I wish I'd taken a picture when it was fresh, as today I have to take it off and trim my nails in advance of the move on Saturday.

    Ok...confirmed my insanity today.

In the complaining and bitching thread, I've been going off on how everyone has been all of a sudden edgy, petty and contradictory.
Well...turns out everyone is feeling it...not just me.

First, I threw down the shit I was working on, on the table, presented it...got tired of bending over backwards and contorting for all the "powers that be"
Like it or leave it...they liked it. Want to see more samples. Ooo-Rah!

Second, called out the group for hearing their "concerns" or being "frustrated" totally contradicting the positives I've been hearing so far...
put it back in their laps. Said put it out there, we want to hear it, this is your solution too...we want your opinion. ...Crickets.

Third, talked to the passive-aggressive techs after the meetings, noted subtly in banter that I heard they were going back to the PMO and their "concerns"
They backtracked, tap-danced...and apologized for the "awkwardness"...and they are feeling the pressure too, since it's the busy season. *ding*
And they noted the posturing CIO has been pushing people's buttons; claiming my project as his own too. (which it isn't..."food for thought")

Fourth, the guy I report to...has been asking for some ambiguous field to be put into the solution...I spend several hours and back & forth emails,
just trying to accommodate him...until I said it would be purposeless and a moot point, the way currently defined. (unless we made our own)
Turns out he just wanted to duplicate another field value and put it in there...there's NO WAY I would have known this "vision". No psychic powers here.
So I skipped putting his desires out there at the meeting...it would have confused them. Turns out, I was correct...they were loaded with enough to absorb.
He admitted to this after the meeting.

People don't understand, I've seen this all before...the petty dynamics of humans, with their "warm & fuzzies" and non-confrontational bitching.
I saw it coming a mile away...I just lost my patience with it...but still kept to my guns...and kept my cool.

Not to be cocky, but I think my name should be at times...rogue "I told you so" 49

And to show a negative...I didn't see an aspect right there in front of me...for weeks...until I put it in a different format.
Then it clicked...and I ran with it. You don't know, until you know.
And I tried to show the ease of the formula...it confused them more. (made the IT people happy...but it wasn't for them)
Live & learn. Some things work, some don't. Put it out there.
    Adjust, move forward...Tweak, tweak, tweak...

Now, I've seen them in their bad state.
Know it's not me. (and sometimes it is me...)
Now I can "play defense" in some comfort.
The politician stuff doesn't come natural to me...but I am getting better at it.
Helps knowing you're not the true target.

Now, I want to fuckin' sleep...it's been a long week.
    Oh yeah...one more win.
I'm not coughing anymore. Not friggin' scaring everyone. (You know how hard it is to run a meeting like that??)

A good local friend texted me unexpectedly last night to ask me if I'd be willing to take her barely used 2009 full suspension mountain bike, for free, after coming to realize that mountain biking intimidates her too much to hold onto it and she'd rather it be in the hands of someone that will put it to good use... provided that she'd be able to borrow it from me if and whenever she wants to.

    Um, yes, thank you.

Picked up a felony warrant this evening. Nation wide extradition, no bond. Check forgery and theft (has a long prior history). So that was a good thing. Oh, the warrant had been issued about 8 hours prior. Hah.

I won a bike in a raffle this morning.

That's kind of a big deal. I'm still in shock.

    Whee!

    That's very cool.
To win something is awesome but a bike just makes it cloud nine.

I don't trust my short-term memory; weren't you recently offered a free bike?

Not recently. I actually won a different bicycle in this same raffle several years back, but I gifted that bike to a friend who didn't own one herself.

My laptop is with IT for service. Without it, I've been using my time to clean off my desk.

Extra bonus: it feels good to throw so much crap away!

Finally met the company I work for face-to-face. (I'm always at the client site and only interact with them)
Took me out to lunch...and I thought it was going to be just the recruiter...but the owner/managing partner showed up too.

We clicked...She said I'm doing well...the client is very happy with my work. (even a gushing a bit...)
"***** was really impressed by your knowledge of many subjects. You are doing a fantastic job and we know that you are making us look good."

Talked for 2 hours...bantering back & forth. It was actually fun & interesting.

We'll see what happens, I've been at this too long and I'm a bit cynical...also agencies tend to spin things at times...and they're not aware, until they are.
But it is nice to get some good feedback.

Now, if I can just make the impossible happen...

    -------------

And as a followup on the day...finally got talk briefly to the pretty young lady I've been going back & forth with online.

Unfortunately, the cell line was bad...it took a few days to connect...and my family is showing up earlier.
So now I have to delay our outing/meeting...and scramble to prep for them sooner than I thought.
BUT...hey, forward movement is good...I'll take it.
Step by step...bit by bit...day by day.

Got my pantry sufficiently restocked. I have been to the grocery store so much this week. The care and feeding of husbands is a lot of work.
