I agree with you whole heartedly. What I anticipated to be a potential 2 hours and 45 five wasted minutes turned out to be one of the best movie experiences I've ever had. In fact, after purchasing the DVD I've probably seen it upwards of ten times now.

The most recent film I've enjoyed, however, is a tie between Reservoir Dogs and Silver Linings Playbook since they were both wonderful.

Just watched White House Down - absolutely loved it. This was the first film I have seen in the theatre in nearly two years and I was debating between this and the Superman film. I think that I made the right choice by a landslide.
Going to write a proper review on my blog that I am not spamming here.

Watched The Heat last week. Melissa McCarthy is always hilarious.

Next on the list - Despicable me 2! :D

Django Unchained. Saw it quite a few months ago now and have seen a few good movies since, but nothing has managed to top it, not even Silver Linings Playbook which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Saw Behind the Candelabra last week. Liberace was a creepy dude. Post cancerous Michael Douglas is a creepy dude made all the more creepy in his role as Liberace. Matt Damon in drag was a creepy sight. I was more creeped out than entertained. I do not recommend it unless watching an unhealthy relationship devolve into the pits of ugliness is your bag.

  8. Watched Lincoln on the 4th. I normally do not watch many movies. I get bored easily. This movie did not lose my attention for its entire 2 and a half hours.

Liberace was quite a talent with a specific taste concerning his love life. 25ish years ago I read part of the biography (not going to look it up right now) about him written by a journalist that was given rare access to his home the year before he died. It had that personal touch you get when you can spend some time talking to the actual subject and not just friends/family/etc after they are gone.

    • WWZ (better than I'd thought, Pitt did a good job with an interesting character)
    • Man of Steel (good reboot)
    • In Time (interesting concept, except as a computer expert I'd probably have a few decades tacked on for good measure...)
    • Pitch Perfect (yes, I like the singing & dancing...very infectious.)
