Sometimes I take quantum thermodynamics a bit too much for granted :(

I was reminded of this today as I read about interesitng new experiments that used special laser light and hardware configurations to cool things to their quantum ground state....just saying quantum ground state made me hungry for a nice juicy cheeseburger and it's almost lunch time.

The universe is expanding. I've always thought this was common and accepted knowledge but apparently it's not. Some still debate it.

    Smoking is bad.

I pick my nose regularly (not in plain sight), and it is often good.

I have never eaten a booger, but boogers are mucus, and you cough that shit up and swallow it all the time, so don't start with me.

To answer the OP's question, I take my education for granted, especially my literacy. While I am grateful for it when I am consciously thinking about it, I often take for granted the ability to read music.

Women typically wear makeup and fancy clothes for other women.

    ...

Thing I know that others often do not know:

Owning a firearm doesn't make you a free man any more than owning a toilet plunger makes you a plumber.

Physical fitness and practical hands-on experience makes a man a better soldier than all the whiz-bang toys in the world.

The best way to organize a group is to provide the task, conditions and standard with purpose, direction and motivation.

Life isn't typically easy or comfortable. We spend most of our time and energy trying to make it such.

You never know as much as you think you do. But I seem to meet a lots of people who dont realize this fact as actually common knowledge, and common sense.

This is what I know I take for granted:
I know how and why my laptop works.
I know how the switch under my desk routes packets between my computers to the router and out to the internet.
I can listen to a hard drive and tell you what is most likely going on with it.
I can completely rebuild the top end of a motor out of a 1990 prelude.
I can tell which sound range is causing feedback in a sound system.
My ability to read and write.
My ability to empathize with somebody

I'm sure there is more, but that's my list for now.

    STIs.

Not because I have one, but because I took a class about them.
