During orgasm, the vas deferens contracts to release sperm, and the corpus spongiosum tissue at the base of the penis contracts multiple times to force the sperm out of the urethra. So basically I guess your question is whether pressure applied to the corpus spongiosum tissue at the base of the penis during orgasm could cause it to tear. I would say no. This tissue is erectile tissue. That shit is tensile. It's also contracting like it's supposed to.

You'd have to apply something much harder to the area to prevent the muscles from contracting. Even then, I don't know if you'd be able to stop them from contracting. You'd maybe have to apply some kind of vice to the entire base of your penis (not something I'd recommend). Even then, it sounds like a bit of a crapshoot.

I don't see there being any reason for concern unless you're doing some crazy shit to your junk for "scientific purposes."

Why not lay back on the sofa, seems much more comfortable...better angle...when you cum, it goes straight up & down.

This is the problem. You don't understand how ejaculation works (despite my explaining it above). The muscles involved in ejaculation aren't located between the anus and scrotum. They're located within the scrotum and in the base of the penis. Sitting on the edge of a couch/sofa, therefore, has little or no impact on the effect of ejaculation.
