Don't forget his claim to have served in served in Vietnam. Even if he had been there at the very tail end (say '73 at the pull-out), and is in his mid-fifties now (say 55), he would've been 13 maybe 14 years old.

And his unwillingness to explain the obvious discrepancies.

    No love respect earned,

    no respect given.

You attended college when you were 13?! You must be a child prodigy. Or something. Definitely something.

Nope, I was 23 when I started college.

If he was a at Kent State in '68 and is now in his mid fifties he would have been 8 - 10 years old. Not impossible but very unlikely.

He also said he served in Vietnam. I'm 55 and we were basically out when I was 13, Saigon fell when I was 14. The draft age was 18. I don't remember when we stopped sending draftees, but it was likely '69 or '70.

That said, the dude is entertaining and I hope he sticks around.

What's the Vietnam story then? US military involvement ended in the summer of '73. You would've not quite been 15 yet.

My dad a pretty bad and awful man got me involved in the Vietnam " situation." It's a long and sorted story, but documents were changed, birth certificate changed. My father Earl had some contacts in the pentagon and Earl pulled out all the stops to get his " brave little soldier " into some combat.

Earl had a deep fear that the liberals would take over and there wouldn't be a war for me to join in on. Earl saw Vietnam conflict coming to an end so Earl sprung into motion and got me involved in the conflict.

Dude, do your own fucking math. You say you're in your mid-fifties. Now you say you were 18 in '73. That makes you 60. If you started college when you were 23 then you might have been at Kent State in '78, not '68 as you say, if you attended Kent State.

You say you served in Vietnam. How? With the Peace Corps in the '80's? Offensive combat operations against the NVA were suspended in January of '71 by executive order. The last U.S. troops left Vietnam in 1973. The 5th Special Forces group (the first U.S. unit deployed to South Vietnam) was pulled out in March of 1971. You did not serve in Vietnam in any military capacity.

Earl was a bad man. Died in 85. Best day of my life. Didn't even attend the funeral.

Then you were 15 in 1973, not 18. And you are now 57, which I would say qualifies as mid-fifties.

Vietnam was not a situation, it was a conflict. I think you mean "sordid." Dude, you should be a best-selling fiction novelist. This is absolute B.S. If your evil dad were Nixon's brother he couldn't have accomplished this. I'm pretty sure even a Marine Corps DI, dumb as they are, would have noticed that you were 12 years old.

But, hey, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Just answer a few questions for me: Years served? Branch? Unit? MOS? Citations?
