I could totally share a man.

  1. My book actually deals with this topic in what I hope is an interesting and thought-provoking way: the non-human culture of my secondary protagonist practices a sort of dual bonding: at birth or shortly after, a child is entered into a sort of what might be called "arranged best-friendship" with an opppsite-sex child of the same age. This functions in the same way that arranged marriages do in many past and current human societies- cementing business deals, formalizing truces, or maintaining bonds between allied families or clans. The two children are essentially raised together by both families, and travel extensively between one another's homes. They are almost always one another's first sexual partners, and a small majority of such pairs eventually marry and have children (only married couples have children, because marriage is a love-match and this parallel system fulfils other functions). When these bonded pairs do not marry each other, they continue to be sexually involved even after marrying other people, and a fairly common arrangement is for two bonded pairs to "marry across" and form a four-parent household. This is most common between pairs who have grown up as close friends.

The Frascini would tell you that this arrangement makes perfect sense: it prevents (to their minds) sexual dysfunction, intramarital jealousy, and loneliness. It helps a family (in the case of a plural household) accumulate and preserve wealth. It means there is always someone about the house to relieve Mom of Baby for a few hours, and it not infrequently helps prevent jealousy from damaging old friendships between same-sex friends.

Humans, who are nominally monogamous, find the entire business puzzling at best, and it is a major factor in the Frascini's reputation for being.massively ovesexed and promiscuous.
