He knew she was toast. He also could have easily had access to the knowledge that she didn't know he'd been turned. If he didn't know what she knew... he put himself in the car with her alone for a few days to find out what she knew. He has family issues, has worked in the region, his estranged wife is from the region etc, etc, etc... From the stand point of a writer looking for a "holy crap!" season ender, Saul being the mole is pretty righteous. Of course I have no way in hell of knowing. Just looking at it as an "it's got to be someone already in the cast" point of view. He's one of very few that had or could have had access to all the info necessary to be the ultimate "baddie."

Very interesting. It actually makes a lot of sense.

I agree. I haven't seen such a convincing nut job since my most recent ex-girlfriend! Definitely interested to see what will happen to her relationship with the agency.

Got your mole for 'ya right here. Estes.

The conclusion is gonna being interesting. Carrie is out of a job at the moment with her mental illness having taken center stage. Brody looks to be about to go *boom* along with a bunch of politicos. It's a crap shoot. Very FUN.

I'm sorry, but for me Baccarin is nothing more than eye candy. The character has been very flat.

I though the whole point of Baccarin WAS to be eye candy.

OK, but not with the pixie (hair)cut.

I like the pixie cut better. That weird, not quite shoulder length doo she had prior to that looked like a tuft of pubes.

That hair-extension thing goin' on at the beginning of Homeland was truly odd. Great description!
Actually, I was thinking of her look in the short-lived, fanboy and girl-worshiped TV series 'Firefly' and the subsequent feature film, 'Serenity.'

I was really skeptical about this show (for reference, I could never stand "24" - I'm very leery of anything that might come across as nationalist and/or conspiratorial), but I keep hearing good things about it. Sounds like I'll have to add it to my list.

Me too! on the 'very leery' part. (I'd watched one episode of 24 and said 'no more.')
This show started a little slow, as do many brand new shows but by episode 4--when my spouse gave up on it--it started to get quite good. Now, I'm riveted.

I didn't think they would take that thread and pull it so far. She was very convincing being all manic.

I agree. She's really convincing--not afraid to look unglamorous--which I like. "Carrie" seems like she's at such a low point now (rock bottom?) In contrast, Brody is a shooting star (to be?)

Yep - what a way to end the year - a really good piece of Television. How far do we get into season 2 before Carrie remembers?

That would be the twenty-million dollar question!
The showrunners have (unsurprisingly) been doing a slew of post-season interviews. In them, they've affirmed that it'll probably take awhile for Carrie to recover her short-term memory if she does. Coincidentally, I just finished a non-fiction book about a woman who gets electroshock therapy and she's very candid about losing some memory permanently. Homeland's writers say they are trying to stay as true as they can to real-life treatment. That said, being television they are allowed dramatic license like the fact that Lt. Brody could not run for office while an active member of the military so they say he will quit pretty soon after season 2 starts.
