Guys, opinions on these make-up styles? Girls, do you do them?

Well done make-up is attractive. If the first thing I notice about you is your make-up, then I'm probably not gonna find you attractive. I should be thinking "Wow, she is really pretty", not "Wow, she looks like her makeup was applied with Homer Simpsons makeup gun!".

Freaks and whores are visually interesting. Desire to date them - maybe not. desire to see them naked - of course! Most guys would love to see pretty much any female naked with few exceptions. Having triple tone lipstick and the 'bump' just gives us reason to look that way first out of curiosity.

I live in central florida. The implications of that are probably not readily apparent for the rest of you so I'll explain: The majority of women here fall into one of two major groups. The first has apparently decided to forego the offerings of the cosmetics industry in favor of singlehandedly keeping Sharpie in business despite the mass movement to a paperless world. The second also does not use traditional cosmetics.

No, what this second group does is more akin to initiating a hostage situation on their face. At every possible opportunity, which is to say any given moment in which their hands are not otherwise occupied, they will slap on more of this melted-crayon "skintone"... By the end of the day one is left desperately wanting to shout "Don't do it!" out of concern the poor girl will suffocate under that layer of spackle.

Ladies, you are among god's finest works of art. Do us a favor and stop vandalising the exhibits.

I guess I am the unusual one here; I wear obvious make-up for obvious reasons…I like responses and more often than not, I get more when I kick it up a notch. Make-up has more to do with color harmony than with amounts. The right colors, go a long way and gently enhance, without over doing it.

Oddly enough, the older I become the more comfortable I am with much, much less. I enjoy the drama, the ritual of application, the ability to reinvent things, the mood of a particular “look”, etc.

p.s. - Women dress for other women, not men.

98% of the time I wear no makeup.
It's not needed for the work I do so I just opt out.
When going out at night, I will put on some mascara and blusher.

I really don't care what other people care to wear for makeup. Heavy, light, whatever.
I used to experiment with makeup and hair and clothes when I was younger so I don't have much room to criticize.

If you're ugly, there isn't any amount of make-up that's going to fix it. Less is more.

Don't get me wrong, I can comprehend a little 'help' in certain circumstances but for every day wear, the point at which I can notice that you're wearing make-up is the point at which I think it's too much.

I like a more 'natural' look, and don't like the taste of makeup. Yet, if a woman likes to doll it up every once in a while, I'm all for it.

Subtle is the name of the game. I'm usually more attracted to a girl who wears less and doesn't have to put a show on her face. I also make fun of cake faces.

  12. A friend of mine posted on Facebook today a reply to the quote that I posted:

"I find makeup to be a great form of self-expression, especially when it is colorful. I'm gonna continue to vandalize ;)"

This brings up a very good point. I personally am still a fan of the minimalist look, but I didn't even think of this point of view.

Eye shadow/liner. nothing else is needed or wanted, I refuse to date anyone that overdoes it with the make up.

<randomfact>For some reason I could never fathom. lipstick makes me cringe. </randomfact>

On a slightly related note, who finds running mascara attractive? Depending on the context, it's cool. ( Not from sadness anyway )

Not a fan of a lot of makeup. I like simple eye's and that's about it. My girlfiend sometimes goes heavy on the stuff and I find it a total turn off. I keep telling her how pretty she is without it (she is super hot with only eye makeup) and she is starting to believe me, yahoo!

I don't even want to look at past statements to see how much is spent on makeup.

That being said, my wife doesn't cake it on. Light foundation and blush and eye shadow and eyeliner. She'll do up her lips if we're going out but I can't stand glitter so she doesn't do that..in fact, I don't think she did it before me either. She's not a big fan of it.

As far as the styles listed, that's a big fat negative ghostrider.

I was hit in the face with a giant glitterpoof at 18. She thought it was hilarious.

It took two days to wash it off my skin. Months to get it all out of my car.

    /PTSD

    ...

Although I haven't been with a woman that indulges in such in a while, I've got a big throbbing thing for girls with a little goth in their warpaint.

  18. I hate glitter. It's the Herpes of arts and crafts... it can very easily get everywhere and it's hard as hell to completely get rid of!
Has no place in makeup, short of people that go to raves every night. Those people I tend to avoid anyways.

if its on a sexy raver girl i don't mind at all. if its on people trying to look normal well... its entertaining anyways. same thing with the goth/emo girls. if they add a little bit of twisted psycho bitch to their looks, it catches my eye
