I meant health-wise. I was under the impression that his issues were going away and we'd see him back on here being his usual perverted self for a while longer.

Gotta say, this caught me off-guard. I wish phil the very best and a wonderful second part of a human's journey.

Well I wasn't going to but I think I'll join you guys. No scotch in the house so bourbon will have to do.

I know Phil's a Vette man but this song always makes me think of him. One day while lost in the Yucatan jungle, my excellent guide skills at their finest. We ended up getting directions on a dirt road from a very confused farmer trying to get his cows out of the way of my truck. It was a "you had to be there moment." Anyway I asked Phil if the music was alright while this song was playing and he told "yeah, it's good. I like it." So he was being polite or he indeed likes this song. Either way whenever I hear it I think of Phil and our adventure that day

I got a call from Buddah about hankster's post. I called Marilyn to find out what is happening.

Phil is worse today than he was yesterday. She said that they still don't know 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months of him being around. When he spoke to Hank she asked him after he hung up why he said that to him. He said because he didn't know if it would be the last time he would ever get to talk to him. It's Phil, that's for sure.

Marilyn and I spoke for a few more minutes. I know that you all are relying on others to let you know what's happening. I must say I didn't ever think that through when I started talking to him and sending him cards that one day I may be the one to bring the news of his passing. Skogafoss and I had a quick cry, and then I called Buddah to relay the news.

I originally just wanted to take a little more time to let it sit with me, like all things that happen to me, feelings tend to get pushed to the side until I do what responsible things I need to do. Here I am.

I'm going to take a few minutes to just sit quietly and let it sink in.

This stupid place, 10 years of meeting people around the world, real life people connecting with other real people. This is not a stupid place, it has enriched my life in ways I cannot explain or cannot quantify to someone who has no idea.

    :(

I forgot to say, Freetofly, he loves getting the cards. Marilyn said that it is the only time during the day that he insists on putting on his glasses and he reads the entire thing.

He loves the fact that people are reaching out to him from the internet into the real world.

Hey people, been a while. It sucks to have something like this to make me come back on the forums
TFP has been around well over 10 years and during my time as admin, I have seen the growth in the forum in content and personality.
Uncle Phil has been one of TFP's longest resident which I have had to pleasure of actually meeting a few times once at my house warming party and a few TFP get-togethers. Uncle Phil's sense of humor and way of discussion help mold the forum into what you see now. He has made many friends, in which I am sure you will be seeing more oldies coming out of the woodwork on this forums in the near future. I will not cry.... yet.. I am pulling for him and hoping the best.
In true Uncle Phil fashion, he prolly be coming back soon so we can all laugh this off.. Lets keep wishing and praying for his return..

I am a man of few emotions. I'm sitting in a hotel room literally looking out over Detroit, and I have taken my contacts out because of the tears. I have refrained from posting here because I can't put it down in a card but here it is.

Phil, I've learned a lot from you, both as a staffer and as a man. You've had a huge impact on TFP and, I'm sure, IRL. I want to be there with you, if for no other reason than to hoist a beer and to talk about the silliness behind the scenes. Since that's not going to happen tonight, I'll either wait for you to tell me when or to tomorrow night and look at the same stars you see and wish you the best. You're a teacher and a mentth.or, and I hope you recognize that I know that you're both.

    Phil, I need you here.
