I was thinking on the way home of words that i like at work:

    persistent
    chronic
    cruciate
    patella
    ventral
    incisor

and, once I learn to pronounce them, I love saying the names of medications:
    doxycycline
    clindamycin
    metronidazole
    methimazole
    cefpodoxime
    virbantel
    tramadol
    carprofen
    clavamox
    enalapril
    furosemide
    zeniquin

all fun to say. most people abbreviate them in conversation - cefpo, for example - but i love the words so i say them in full.

I've never been an Aperol fan-- I find bitters just too bitter.

Best grapefruit cocktail I ever had was made by my granddad, who started with strawberry brandy he made himself (you slice fresh strawberries, and inside a big jar with a tight-sealing lid, you layer strawberry slices and sugar, then cover everything with very high quality vodka, and let it sit in a cool, shaded place for at least two weeks, preferably six, then strain the liquor: you can do this with other berries or cherries, or really any kind of fruit, too). He would pour a hefty shot of strawberry brandy into a tumbler, followed by a smaller shot of triple sec, followed by filling the glass 2/3 full with freshly squeezed and thoroughly chilled red grapefruit juice, topped off with a big shot of ice-cold seltzer water. Sometimes he would garnish with a fresh mint leaf, but mostly he served them straight and cold, like that.

He also taught me some words I like a lot:

    infusion
    aperetif
    digestif
    marinate
    snockered
    bloviate
    natter
hoo-hah (in reference to lady parts)
    mishugas
schmeckel (like a schmuck, but smaller)
    gams

I think it's the "oi" sound. It also makes me think of bodily fluids. Ew.

Oh, fun. People are always talking about words they abhor. Never have I seen or heard a conversation about words pleasing to the ear.

    Etouffee.
    Parabolic.
    Superluminal.
    Treble.
    Seraphim.
    Azure.
    Proprietary.
    Pentatonic.

Need time to think of more.
