    Phew. Apparently she changed her mind. And my parents don't want to come to Christmas. Thank goodness. I really didn't want to have to listen to their complaining afterwards that they'd been ignored. My husband's family is large compared to ours and so sometimes people get lost in the shuffle, especially on that side of the family, since they're all kind of introverted. The other side of the family is much better at making people feel included.

    Whatever you guys think of family gatherings, the Afghan version is always in a different league of mental retardation.

    Thank fuck I stopped attending any of them years ago, and opted for spending alone time with the relevant celebratory/solemn person after the big gathering.

    There was one last ditch guilt-trip effort by my dad last night. Sorry, bags are packed, the infinity is gassed up and the hotels are booked... now if you'd like to pay me the cost of the hotels, I'll consider it. Of course he refused that completely. Then my bro (the one who still lives with mommy & daddy and is worthless) sends a text asking if he could use my audi while he's gone. My reply? hahahahahahahahaha. Let me think about it...N.O.
