shoegirl that's fantastic! You're an inspiration to me.

Twins are very common in my family as well. It's definitely possible to make enough milk for multiples. When that time comes for you, if you want tips on milk production, I'll share everything I know.

  2. Questions to ask my Neuro when I see her on Monday:

    1) What do YOU know about Tysabri and Breastfeeding. I know you took me off of it as soon as you knew I was pregnant, so does this mean you don't think it's good for the baby? I've learned that the science says it probably won't harm the baby, but there are no studies. I don't want to be the woman who finds out that it's bad for the baby.
    2) What do you know about MS and Breastfeeding? I have read that it's beneficial to mothers and can prevent or lessen the effects of a relapse.
    3) How soon will I go on Tysabri after I deliver? Will I have some time to breastfeed until I have a new infusion? Should I not encourage the milk to come in at all?

    (Not Related to breastfeeding)
    1) I know MS affects the white female demographic more than males or African Americans. What do you know about Asians with MS since my baby will be half Japanese. I know it's not hereditary, but there is a higher chance (1% if it's a boy 5% if it's a girl) that since I'm having a girl that she could have MS later in life.

I have to write them somewhere so I'll remember what to ask.....

I didn't know about the 2-year recommendation, either.

Nor did I know that American society frowns upon a 6-month old baby sucking its mother's breast.

I've always held the belief, for one reason or another, that 1 year of breastfeeding would be optimal, with an optional 6 months on top of that.

When they can say basic sentences, in my eyes that's where it should stop.

 ZS, you rock! The fact that you are even taking the time to look into this so deeply shows that you want the best for your littlesquirrelly. But then again, I already knew that. So glad I didn't have a choice like this to weigh. For me, lactating was a win-win, and therefore a no-brainer.
